1. The English Government established Princess Elizabeth Special School for


the blind in Johor Bahru in 1948. List three (3) reasons for this development.
a. Initially, the main role of special education and the recovery of various
disabilities was contributed by family and community institutions
comprising of religious, ethnic, parent, and voluntary organizations,
both locally and internationally.
b. Efforts to provide facilities and educational services for the community,
especially for those troubled by the Asian countries including Malaya,
have been spearheaded by the distinctive social movements of
religious institutions.
c. The federal government of malaya has shown a vigorous initiative to
develop the education system and work hard to improve the facilities at
all schools.

2. The 1997 Education Regulation (Special Education) requires the Malaysian
Ministry of Education to provided educational services to three (3) categories
of pupils with impairments. The 2013 Education Regulation (Special
Education) increase these to six (6) categories. Name the new categories.

d. Any combination of the disabilities, or disabilities and difficulties,

3. Pupils with physical orthopaedic impairments cognitively normal should be


included in mainstream classes. State three (3) reasons to support these
arguments.
a. Teachers need to know about the problems faced by their students.
For example, the teacher must know how to manage a student who
contracted a seizure or asthma.
b. Teachers also need to be clear about the effects of these physical
problems on the psychosocial development of the child. These children
sometimes do not understand their lives and often face adjustment
problems.
c. Additionally, teachers need to be sensitive to the needs of their
students. For example, a child with cerebral palsi can use a computer
or a pen or a pencil that does not require strong pressure if there is a
task involving writing. The use of book holders or electronic textbooks
can help children who are not able to hold books

4. Besides the Ministry of Education, there are other Ministries that also provides
services to pupils with special educational needs. Name two (2) services that
are being provided by the Ministries below.

having eye problems. State three (3) signs of a pupil that might indicate that a
pupils might be having visual issues.

kanak-kanak cerebral palsi boleh menggunakan komputer atau pen ataupun
pensil yang tidak memerlukan tekanan yang kuat sekiranya ada tugasan
melibatkan penulisan. Penggunaan pemegang buku (‘book holders’) ataupun
buku teks elektronik dapat membantu kanak-kanak yang tidak berupaya
memegang buku
