STANDARD
 Standard 5.3.1.C -identify the value of fire fighters, police officers, and
emergency workers in the community
 Standard 8.2.1. - identify groups of people who contribute to a community
 Standard 5.3.1. - identify the roles of local government (fire, police, etc.)

 The students will be able to complete the community helper assessment to show
what they have learned during this unit.

IV. Implementation
A. Introduction
 The students will play a “I have, Who Has” review game with the community
helpers.
 Each student will get a card. The person with the “start” card will go first and read
what their card says. The student that has the community helper that answers to
that card will stand and read their card. Continue until all cards are read.
B. Development
 The teacher will ask the helper students to hand out the privacy folders.
 The teacher will pass out the test to each student.
 The teacher will read each question to the class, and the students will choose the
best answer for each.

C. Closure
 When the students are done, they will hold up their test. The teacher will come
around to collect.
 The helper students will collect the privacy folders.

D. Accommodations/Differentiation
 For students Ka, Ky, S, and D, the teacher will be reading each part of the test
because they struggle in reading.

E. Assessment/Evaluation Plan
1. Summative
 Each question on the test will be worth one point, making the test a
total of 20 points.
