NARRATIVE REPORT

As a grade 12 student, we are mandated to have a work immersion and that would have 2
weeks and to complete the 80 hours work in order to accomplish the task given. The work
immersion can be also a community service wherein we’ve We cleaned the surroundings of the
department we belong to. We also cleaned the municipal plaza to be used in programs/ events. As
assigned in the Rural Health Unit of our municipality, I have gained so many learnings that can
help me in the near future. I am proud that I have done works to help our place become an attractive
one to go to. During our work immersion, we’ve done so many community service and cleaning
the environment is not only what we call community service. Helping people and assisting them
can also be a community service. Giving gifts to malnourish kids in our municipality, assisting
patients having check ups in the health center, visiting every place in the municipality to have a
free “bakuna” to avoid illnesses and also giving a free check ups on patients with sicknesses are
what you can call community service. When we say community service, it’s not just talking about
cleaning the environment but also helping each other in the community in order to have a
wonderful and a clean place to live in. It is more than just hours of service; community service is
based on theacts performed by someone with the purpose of helping or bringing benefits to his/her
community. In simplest form, it is an act of selflessness. It’s process is both beneficial for the
individuals as well as in the society. Without community service, people wouldn’t know the
meaning of charity and giving back. It is not a responsibility or an obligation; it is a commitment.
