A message from Massimo Danieli
Dear colleagues,
Welcome to the first issue of the Grid Automation Update – our new internal newsletter for PGGA
employees!
Today, the PGGA team consists of close to 6,000 employees globally. For a unit of this size, it’s
understandable to sometimes feel out-of-touch with your colleagues in other functions. And it is my
hope that this newsletter will help in this respect. I trust it will help you experience the great work
that goes on across the organization globally, to enable you to create customer value each and
every day.
During this year of 2017, we are operating in a challenging market, but we have also shown strength
as a team and we must continue to do so, in order to always strive for the best possible results in
our business performance, strategy and quest for operational excellence. As we look to the future –
we will continue our Power Up transformation, developing opportunities related to digitalization,
software and service to accelerate the growth needed to reach our 2020 goals.

Health & safety
The health and safety of our employees is our license to operate. To
demonstrate our relentless commitment to HSE, in Q2 we launched our

Over the course of 2017 and beyond, the portal will relay a series of
messages reinforcing some of the good habits required in five “key in 2017 – so get
risk” areas we’ve deemed especially relevant for PGGA employees: road
safety, hand protection, electrical safety, factory safety and office
reporting!
