0) - Informative Brochure 
English 9 Honors 

Important themes of the ​Odyssey​ include the ideas of temptation, ego/pride,


perseverance/resilience, anger/revenge, death/ grief, and coming of age.

Your final project is to create an informative


brochure on ​one​ of these themes. Your target
audience is adolescents aged 13-14.
The brochure must include explanations of the
topic, how it is a problem or an issue for teens,
a list of at least 5 best practices (specific
behaviors/actions) teens can practice to help with
the problem, and information on an actual local
organization that helps address the issue.

You will have 2 class periods to work on the school computers in the library,
otherwise be sure to work on your brochure outside of class time (i.e., during
lunch or at home). The final brochure must be printed, which can be done at the
school library (ask your teacher if you do not have spare change) or at home
(if you have a personal printer).

Brochure Requirements: 
❏ Printed (1 hard copy submission ONLY)
❏ All sections on given template must be completed
❏ At least 5 credible & relevant informational resources (NO “.com” sites)
❏ At least 2 credible & relevant local organization
(include the name of organization, a short description of how it is relevant
& helpful, and real contact information)
❏ At least 5 clear & relevant images
❏ Legible font style, size, and color
❏ Overall design is organized, attractive, and appropriate to TPA (task,
purpose, audience)
