volving other operations. Additionally, their English
vocabulary is also quite limited and they have trou-
ble spelling. This is probably because they speak
Tamil with each other, which is why we have to ban
Tamil during lessons in order to encourage them to
speak in English. At times it can be difficult to keep
them engaged in the lesson and get distracted
easily. However, this is only due to their natural in-
quisitiveness and curiosity, which is a good sign that
they are progressing well. They can also be quite
mischievous sometimes, but it does not take much
effort from the tutors to make them focus on their
work again. Despite the lessons being two hours
each, the children are generally well behaved and
eager to learn.

I feel grateful for being offered the role of project
manager for Agathians Tutoring. The children are a
pleasure to teach (most of the time) and I am hum-
bled with the knowledge that I am improving their
lives and future in my own small way. Although I am
their teacher, I have learned important things from
them as well, and I look forward to continuing as the
project manager and promoting this project to en-
courage more volunteers for this great cause.

BLOOD DONATION DRIVE A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT BETWEEN
TCSH LEO CLUB AND TCSH DOCTORS OF TOMORROW

On the 17th of February, a blood drive was held at

the ground floor of the Hartamas Shopping Centre,
in an effort to acquire donors to donate blood for the
National Blood Centre, for it to be sent to hospitals
for patients in need of a blood supply. The blood
drive was a result of a collaboration between the
Leo Club and the Doctors of Tomorrow Club, who
teamed up to make this event possible. The venue
was sponsored graciously by the Hartamas Shop-
ping Centre, and a team of a doctor and a few nurses
were involved in the procedure.

donors from the Taylor’s College faculty, student
body, and the general public. Each donor was hand-
ed a certificate for participating in the blood drive.
The event was a wonderful experience for Taylor’s
College students, and as well as the members of
the public, as it provided an opportunity for them to
help others in need by donating their
blood, and as well as by possibly saving someone
else’s life. The event also served as an eye opener
to those who had never donated blood before. The
blood drive could also inspire others, and those be-
