Dear Sisters
MARCH COMES IN LIKE A WET LION AND HOPEFULLY GOES OUT LIKE A LAMB !!!!!!!!
As we prepare for the joyous Resurrection of Our Lord, let us not forget the sacrifices that He made for us.
Our First ever Valentines Dinner and Dance was a major success. Girls we did it for the cause and it was fantastic.
(So all you eye rollers do your thing) Everyone had a great time. We were transported back to the Fifties and Sixties.
What a great time period.
Thank you to the Kavanaugh Girls and Ronnie Pliszak and Pat Tariol for chairing this wonderful event.
Chapter Girls also had our Birthright Shower. WOW Such generosity and Love.
GIRLS TAKE YOUR RIGHT HAND AND PUT IT ON YOUR LEFT SHOULDER AND PAT YOURSELFES THANK YOU
We will be having our Joint Communion Breakfast on April 12th at Mount Carmel Church at 9:45am Mass. Breakfast
will follow at the Patchogue Council. The cost will be $12.00 per person. We will have everything from soup to nuts.

I have been asked by State Deputy Kenneth F. Latham, Jr. to pass this around. Bishop Henning, with the support of
Bishop Barres of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, would like the Knights of Columbus to pass out Rosaries and
Prayer Cards at St. Patrick‟s Day parades and events. All Chapters, Councils, and Assemblies are encouraged to
participate. You can get rosaries and prayer cards from any available source.
Supreme Council has Family Rosary Program kits available but limited to 125 kits at no
charge. Have your Financial Secretary sign in at kofc.org, go to Supplies on Line, and click
Fraternal, then Kits, and finally Family Rosary Program.

The Shrine of Our Lady of the island, conducted by the Montfort Missionaries, is located on the
eastern end of Long Island, about sixty miles from New York City. Conceived in 1953 as a place of
pilgrimage, actual construction began in 1972 on 65 acres of land donated by a generous benefactor.
An 18 foot statue of Mother and Child, carved from a forty ton piece of granite at the Rock of Ages
Studio in Vermont was added in 1975 and stands atop a glacial boulder of rose quartz that has
remained in position for the past 15,000 years. It overlooks Moriches Bay and the Atlantic Ocean
some five miles away.

In 1954, lobbying by the FOR APPROVAL
Order of the Knights of
Columbus helped convince the
U.S. Congress to add the E-Mail:
phrase “under God” to the
Pledge of Allegiance. tullfam70@gmail.com
President Dwight Eisenhower wrote to Supreme Knight, Luke E.
Hart, thanking the Knights for their “part in the movement to have
the words „under God‟ added to our Pledge of Allegiance.” “One Member, per Council,
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, per Month” and “One First Degree,
and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God,
indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” per District, per Month” resulting in
“One Star Council, per District”
