CHECK LIST Tantalite Export Proccess:

1. Documentation:

1.1. Packing List

1.2. Invoice
1.3. Radiation Survey Report –AHK
1.4. Marine Cargo Insurance
1.5. Multimodal Dangerous goods
1.6. Certificate of Origin
1.7. Chain of Custody
1.8. ANEA Export Certificate
1.9. Certificate of Assay-AHK
1.10. MSDS-Material Safety Data Sheet

2. Operations to be performed in the mine ( not at TEEN) :

2.1. Alfred Knight + Customs + ANEA : on site, to assist the filling of the
drums in the Dry Plant

2.2. Each drum to be weight 397 Kg and sealed with the seal number

2.3. Radioactive measuring for each drum

Measurements for the drums at approximately 10cm from the surface of
the material and at a distance of 1m and 2m plus measurements around
the outside of the drum.
Material Radiation Readings ( uSv/h).
For reference the last real example readings:
At drum : 0,5 uSv/h
At 1 m : 0,3 uSv/h
At 2m: 0,15 uSv/h

2.4. Drums need to be in very good conditions, without corrosion and

cleaned..

2.5. Drums cover need to be closed with a screw well tightened torque.

2.6. Drums need to be cleaned up with a jet of water and wiped with a
sponge or cleaned cloths, after being filled in.

2.7. Regarding the non-contamination checking before loading the drums

into the container that the measure indicates less than 0.4 Bq/cm2.
2.8. Before loading the drums into the Container, it’s necessary to install on
the floor of the container , a Tarpaulin, with at least 30 cm up the inner 4
walls.

2.9. Also, install Vertical Straps lines inside the container. The ideal is to
use the Cordstarp, cheaper and efficient.

2.10. Drums are secured by using 2 straps:

- One strap to crate the upper part of the drums
- One strap to crate the lower part of the drums
- Each strap secure a group of 8 drums.
- In case there are drums on top of the others, it’s required to use a
cardboard of sufficient thickness between the drums of the top and
the bottom, to prevent any damage of the lower drums.
This cardboard also reduces the sliding coefficient.
2.11 To use a 20 ft container in a good condition with a maintenance
performed or with ACEP stamp, identification of the owner, correct and
valid CSC plate.

2.12 The labelling of the container must be:

LSA-I Label ( triangular) with :
Activity: 1,73 GBq
TI: 0,1
Radioactive II Yellow ( 7B) Label
UN 2912 Label
Consignee Label
Consigner Label

2.13 The Transport Index(TI) is calculated as: the radiation level in

uSv/h measured at a distance of 1 metre divided by 10. multiplied by 3
( multiplication factor for a size of load between 5 and 20 m2) and
rounded up to first decimal place.

2.14 Activity value is calculated as 45,6 MBq x nr of drums

2.15 Radiological Controls: according to the IAEA regulations, the

non-fixed contamination on the external surfaces of the dry shipping
container shall not exceed 0,4 Bq/cm2 for beta and gamma emitters
and low toxicity alpha emitters.
