Name: Dody • 28 Jan 2019 • Buying and selling, comparative adjectives.

Description
In this lesson, Ss learn about comparative adjectives through several exercises. The lesson starts with asking Ss if they have got a car, and why they like it, and I will notice the adjectives
they use while answering these questions. Then they will go through some exercises to practice using comparative adjectives. Through these exercises, I will explain any difficult words for
them.

Main Aims
To provide clarification of comparative adjectives in the context of Buying and selling

Sub Aims
To provide clarification of adjectives in the context of Buying and selling

Background

Class Profile
The students in this elementary class are between the ages of 20 and 30, there are 6 women and 4 men. They are enthusiastic to learn English and they like activities and doing debates,
but sometimes they get out of control and they use their first language.

Assumptions
I assume that Ss may face some new words in this lesson "such as: expensive, uncomfortable, attractive, cheap" I'll explain them to enable the Ss to use them in forming comparative
adjectives.

Personal Aims
In this lesson I'm going to do a better job with timing by first illustrating the form of comparative adjectives before asking Ss to answer the questions. I'll apply better monitoring while the
students answer the exercises, and I'll give them sometime for freer practice.

Timetable Fit
In the past lesson the students have been discussing issues related to use past simple negative form and questions and how to arrange a night out. In the following lesson they will
continue studying superlative adjectives.

Anticipated Problems & Solutions

1-problem: Timing, the time might run out before completing the whole stages of the lesson as it is limited for only 30 minutes.
-solution: I'll explain the form of comparative adjectives first to help the Ss answering the questions easily, and I'll focus on the most important exercises that achieves the target of the
lesson.
2-problem: there may be some new vocabulary that will need to know their meaning to form comparative adjectives correctly "such as: Expensive, ugly, cheap, attractive".
-solution: I'll introduce and illustrate the meaning of these words:
*expensive: costing a lot of money.
*ugly: something or someone that is not beautiful.
*cheap: something that is low in price/ the opposite of "expensive".
*attractive: something that is pleasing.
