NWCS Gifted Program Prep – for Grades K-1 2019 Summer Camp

Tentative Schedule

Overview: Test preparation is the core to this summer course, but a lot more
is also offered. Integration of test material with a broader accelerated
program in mathematics, English, and science, helps students pursue a
strong, well-rounded foundation, ultimately helping them become eager
learners and leaders both in the classroom and in society.

Goal: To help students gain familiarity and build confidence for the test,
while learning advanced topics at the same time.

Ice-breakers, Diagnostic Test, CogAT Analogies, Alphabetical Order, Parts of
Speech

Day 2: 8/6/2019
Reading Analog Clocks, Telling Time, 2D Geometry, 2 Digit Addition and
Subtraction

Day 3: 8/7/2019
English: Reading, Writing, Grammar, and Vocabulary

Day 4: 8/8/2019
Money, Decimals, 3 Digit Addition and Subtraction

Week 2: 8/12/2019-8/15/2019
Day 5: 8/12/2019
Multiplication, Fractions

Day 6: 8/13/2019
Division, Biology and Ecology

Day 7: 8/14/2019
Review and FINAL EXAM

Day 8: 8/15/2019
Test Taking Tips, Mock CogAT

CogAT question demonstrations and practice will be integrated into each day.
