Introduction
Digital media is digitized content that can be transmitted over the internet or
computer networks. This can include text, audio, video and graphics and can be
created, viewed, distributed, modified and preserved on digital electronics device.
A number of environmental factors contribute negatively to individuals
stress level. Mood Budz are designed to assist with reducing these stress levels by
enabling relaxation. Mood Budz are so uniquely designed that they are able to
identify one’s mood and select the appropriate song from one’s playlist on their
smart device whether android or IOS devices.
This product will go through vigorous testing to ensure that it is delivered
on the objective.

I would like to express my special thanks of gratitude to my teacher Mrs. Gayle-
Brown who guided the Digital Media unit one class of grade 12 and 13 in
completing this internal assessment. Doing this project provided me with
knowledge of how digital media plays a major role in today’s society. I would also
like to thank my parents who supported me in finalizing this project within the
limited time frame.
Description of Product
MoodBudz is a wireless earbuds with artificial intelligence capabilities to identify
the user’s mood. It is tethered to one’s smart device which plays music from one’s
playlist that matches the user’s mood. Its usability will reduce stress levels of
individuals and promotes relaxation. MoodBudz earbuds are designed with soft,
flexible rubber that contours with the users ears and comes in multiple colors such
as rose gold, silver, red, black and white. The package includes a wrist band which
detects the pulse on the wrist in order to identify if the user is calm, anxious or
angry which is determined by the pace of the heart.
Research
Target Audience:
MoodBudz are targeted at teens and young adults who enjoy listening to music to
relieve anxieties, stresses from everyday life and those who expresses themselves
through ones relation to lyrics.

Design of Data Capture Instrument/ Data Collection:


Feedbacks were made from persons who would be interested by the usability and
the affordability of the product. A questionnaire was developed using survey
monkey.

Rationale
Overview of the problem:
Stress relief and relaxation methods differ amongst individuals. Often time’s
persons may want to take a time out to relax and destress. Listening to music is
known to be relaxing however, persons especially teens and young adults have to
be aware of their surroundings when playing music. MoodBudz provides the
convenience and prevents the disturbance of other persons.

Methodology/Use of Digital Tools and Techniques

Quantitative research was carried out by using the software, Survey Monkey. The
project idea was communicated through a video taken by a digital camera and
edited on the software, Imovie which was then uploaded on the Youtube software.
Overview
MoodBudz is an intelligent wireless device that has the ability to play music based
on one’s mood. The wireless communication is programmed to directly activate
the specific playlist which will send a communication to the device where the
device prompt ask if the user wants to listen to music. The package includes a wrist
band which detects the pulse on the wrist to identify the users mood.
