Borehole Sites and Status Report

Introduction
This paper is a summarized report of the borehole locations and their respective status at BPS. The
borehole sites are as shown in the drawing numbered 001/11 attached to this document. The
boreholes are scattered around the station and mostly located on the northern part as shown in the
aforesaid drawing. The borehole water system consists, as at commissioning, of ten boreholes of
various discharge rates and pipe work of diameter 2” and 3” which discharges in the reservoirs. The
scope of this write up did not include the condition of the wells themselves, that is, whether they
have water or are dry.

Conclusion
The condition of the pumps could not be established since they are submerged in the wells. Again it
could not be ascertained whether the flow meters are in good working order. Some pipe work is
corroded and need to be replaced as part of the intended resuscitation program.
