Our safety performance in 2017
has been the best in terms of Total
Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) since
2012. At 0.1823 TRIR, the lagging

Conference held last December 5-6,
2017, which was organized by the
Safety and Health Association in the

(DOE). The event recognized eight
of our facilities for attaining Zero Lost
Time Accident (LTA) operation and
presented 18 of our Safety Officers
with the 2017 SHAPES Outstanding
Safety Professional Award for their
outstanding work in implementing
our health, safety, and environment
policies.

implement a Lifelong Wellness
Program for our employees in our
Head Office and Business Units, and
their families. The program provides
access to health-related education,
resources, and tools to promote

In 2016, EDC embarked on an

system audit, which continued into

how the four EDC SBUs execute the
Occupational Health Management
System (OHMS) at the level of the
BU. It also served as an opportunity
to evaluate our health programs and
strategies, compliance, and interface
with the EDC HES-COE and the
OHMS Standards, and to identify
possible improvements. The audit
results highlighted the local health
teams’ best practices and identified
areas for further assessment and
action. First Philippine Holdings
(FPH) conducted the audit, with a
team composed of various health
advisers of the FPH companies.

workforce and communities in times of natural disasters.
