AMASS is a gathering: a place of convergence, collaboration, negotiation and

survival that seeks to playfully interrogate the nexus of men’s
interdependencies and dissociation: how men often struggle to navigate the
implications and social coding of their emotional and physical needs for
contact with one another.

AMASS seeks to connect and reconnect; to find and maintain elusive

equilibrium and cohesion exploring action and memory.
Peter Jacobs is a mature performer and performance-maker based in the north west, with a
wide experience of different types of performance including photographic, situational and
gallery installations, and art and theatrical performances in the UK + Europe.

Peter has previously featured in performances for artists including: Ron Athey, Dominique
Baron-Bonarjee, Adam James, Completely Naked, Jeremy Deller, Interdigitate Dance
Theatre, JocJonJosch, Hannah Nicklin, Naomi Kashiwagi, Daniel Knorr, Clifford Owens,
Ranulph Redlin, Roshana Rubin-Mayhew and Adam Wilson Holmes, as well as appearing as a
community chorus member in The Oresteia at HOME and The Suppliant Women and
Fatherland (MIF17) at the Royal Exchange Theatre.

Previous work: Peter's first work as an artist KINDLING was commissioned for Emergency: A
free day out for the curious, presented by Word of Warning, STUN + Z-arts, and was
performed in October 2014. BIBLIOCLASM was performed at Guerrilla Galleries'
FORBIDDEN exhibition at The Daniel Libeskind Space, Islington, London in January 2015.
GONE MAD was created for and performed at Haphazard 2015: A free day out for the
curious of all ages, presented by Word of Warning, STUN + Z-arts, and was performed in
February 2015. LOST | FOUND was presented at FORENSIC 2015, part of DERELICT at UCLan
in Preston in April 2015. NO MAN IS AN ISLAND was created for Emergency 2016 (as above)
and performed at Z-arts in October 2016. AT NIGHT I LOCK THE DOORS - a silent disco for
seven men listening to their own soundtrack - was created for Emergency 2017 and
performed at Z-arts in September 2017.
