Idea for Elks Lodge
I think Nancy Carpenter had a great idea of
turning the old Elks building into a museum. Now
that the building is for sale I think it would be the
perfect time for the city to purchase it. It has plenty
of rooms for multi-use. One room could house the
memorabilia from Hunt High, one could be used
for a museum of Columbus’ general history, and so
on.
I know that John Fields has a tremendous collec-
tion of Columbus items that could be wonderfully
displayed in the upstairs ballroom.
There would even be room for the old Hardy

get him elected, even though no American Pres-
