fabrican en el país con tecnología de impresión 3D. A la fecha, la compañía cuenta
con tres sistemas robóticos en sus operaciones, y prevé cerrar 2019 con al menos
10 en México.
The German giant has integrated new technologies in Mexico, which has translated
into savings of up to 30%.
For the German parcel and logistics company DHL, working with robotic systems
has become commonplace in Mexico. The company uses from mechanical
processes, such as the filling of documentation of a shipment by means of an
automated software, to the placement of products in a warehouse with the help of a
robotic arm. These technologies have resulted in savings of up to 30%.
An example of this is the robotic arms that handle merchandise of the most diverse
caliber, and that require custom-made pieces of the product, which are
manufactured in the country with 3D printing technology. To date, the company has
three robotic systems in its operations, and plans to close 2019 with at least 10 in
Mexico.
The firm is also exploring the use of blockchain technology (or chain of blocks, on
which cryptocurrencies run as bitcoin) for its operations with Mexican companies.
"We are testing it to ensure a suitable different temperature in the same chain of
processes. Transporting chocolates is not the same as medicines, "Aderman
explained.
The executive added that, in Germany, the company is carrying out tests with
autonomous vehicles, both for local deliveries and for long trips.
In addition to the savings in operating costs, these systems have allowed the
company to face adverse scenarios, such as the recent case of the blockade on the
railroad tracks in Michoacán, which stopped the movement of goods and supplies
from several companies.
Through its robotized software, the company was able to calculate in real time
alternatives to continue with the movement of merchandise, and that although in
some cases it increased the delivery costs, it meant a lower financial affectation for
its users. Hence, according to the company, none of its customers will be affected.
