In this newspaper article The Torstar Syndication services gives us an insight on the

consequences that have arose because of are mindless behavior when it comes to littering. The

author uses there upbringing with the knowledge of the environmental impact of littering to help

back up there evidence. The article explains that the reason people litter is because they simply

don't care and just have no regard for our environment and the article blames this on the fact that

our society is just too oblivious to the overall impact littering has on our environment and the

world in general. The article goes into further detail explaining that littering not only hurts are

environment but also the lives of innocent animals. The article then goes into detail explaining

ways we can prevent this littering problem such as adding garbage cans or community clean up

events. This resource I believe will be useful in my project because it gives a good explanations

on the types of consequences that have arose because of littering thus enhancing my argument on

why we need to stop littering. This article I believes sparks the idea of what difference can we

make if we just pick up after ourselves. The information that I believe will be best usable is the

part were they talk about the different types of consequences.

In this article Rinkesh explores the topic of littering and talks about why people do it and how we

can prevent it. As an environmentalist rinkesh uses his own knowledge to gives us an insight on

the littering epidemic. This article consist of Rinkesh giving us an explanation on why it happens

whether it's the belief that there is no consequence for littering or just out of being lazy and

careless. He then also explains that ways we can solve the problem is by adding more litter laws,

an anti - litter campaigns or just by simply adding more trash cans. I believe this article will be

useful in my project because it helps people understand why we do and ways we can prevent it. I

also believe this article will help enhance my knowledge of littering so I can do my best and help

out. The article in general I believe is filled with useful information so I can refer back to it

often.

In the article Rebecca gives us statistical facts about littering that not only helps us learn more

about littering, But helps us find out who are the people who contribute to it. After reviewing

many different sources she was able to come out with stats that will better help us better

understand littering. The article gives us many diferents stats on littering such as the places that

are mainly litterd or the main objects that are being thrown out. The stat that we came looking

for was who litters the most and based of the research it turns out drivers and teens contribute to

this problem the most. I believe this article will be very useful in my project because it helps me

narrow down my audience of who I need to target the most being teenagers which is a good

thing being im in highschool still so i'm surrounded by many. I believe that the whole article is

useful even If i only came looking for one thing. The idea this sparks for me towards my final

project is how can I target these teens.

The journal written by the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health

tackles the problem of cigaret butts and how there by far the most common thing litterd in the

United States. The article conducts a survey asking smokers how often do they smoke and there

beliefs of cigarette butts as litter to come up with there analysis. The journal goes in talking

about the problem first stating that cigaret butts are by far the most common thing littered and

how the pose a threat to our environment. The journal then goes on talking about the survey they

did and what the outcome was of it.I believe that this Journal will enhance my project by giving

be an idea of what I should be targeting the most when i'm out and about. I believe the

information I find most useful is the part where they talk about the effects these cigaret buts can

have on our enviorment. The idea this raises for me is why do people do it.

In the article vivian wagner targets the problem and explains why we as people choose to litter.

Vivian uses her knowledge as a college teacher to come up with the answer to why we litter. The

article goes on to explain were trash is most likely to be found in her area, she also explains that

if we want to prevent littering it's not a matter of trying to change someone's mind, but actually

getting them to experience it for themselves. She also goes on to explain that the main reason we

do it is because it’s a monkey see monkey do type of thing. She believes were most likely to do

something that goes against something that is unusual to you just so you don't stand out. I believe

this will help further my project by giving me a good idea on why people do it. The idea this

sparks for me is how can we get people to actually clean up after themselves so we can start a

monkey see monkey do in that.
