GREETINGS
GORGEOUS!
If this is our first time meeting, hello! I'm Kitty Cavalier.
I help women live sensual, pleasure based lives through the
study of sensuality, spirituality, and (you guessed it) style!

There is nothing I love more than sitting down with a girlfriend

in a dressing room and making art together through style.

While we can't be together in person, I'm delighted at the

chance to sit down on the virtual tufted velvet bench and talk
style with you here.

Let's get started!

P.S. - This guide is a sample chapter of my new book, Club

Macaron, which debuts May 17th. If you enjoy this guide, you're
going to love the book! Click here to join the VIP wait list!

I am not professional stylist, but I am a
lifelong lover of beauty.
Beauty is what we turn to in times of grief and joy. Beauty is
how we mark the celebration of a milestone. In even the most
desperate times, beauty helps us remember who we really
are. Whether it is a fresh spring flower in your hair, adorning
your collarbone with your grandmother's cameo necklace or
a shocking shade of pink lipstick, furnishing the world with
beauty is a sacred act, and a spiritual practice indeed.

Style can often feel intimdating, but at You know you’ve found your sig-

STEP ONE: PIN BABY PIN

© C O P Y R I G H T K I T T Y C A VA L I E R L L C 2 0 1 8
Step one: Create a Pinterest board of ALL
images that catch your eye, not just
clothing.
(If you’re not on Pinterest, grab a few of your favorite maga-
zines and rip out images to keep in a folder.)
Usually when people create a Pinterest board to furnish their style, they limit
their range to just clothing they would choose. No, no, no ma cherie! Think of
your style board as a scrapbook of your soul. Clothing is just one aspect! For
example, maybe you see an image of a vintage teacup or a shiny new car. If the
feeling you get from that image strikes a resounding “YES” on your aesthetic
heartstrings, pin it up! Don’t worry about continuity or staying with a theme.
You can have a dainty picture of summer violets right next to a picture of James
Dean with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. It will all make sense in the
end.

Once you have your board assembled (it will always be growing, but 10-15 im-
ages is a good starting point) let’s get a bit more specific.

STEP T WO: THE ME S

1. WHAT
When you look at the different images on your board, what words de-
scribe the themes you are seeing? (It’s OK to have completely contrasting
words here, like clean and fluid, right next to gritty and dirty.)

• Form Themes (hourglass, straight lines, curves, bold shapes):

• Feeling Themes (cozy, glamorous, feminine, edgy, rebellious):

• Color Themes (Bolds, neutrals, pastels, black & white, colors repeating):

• Texture/Fabric Themes (sequins, faux fur, denim, velvet, linen, cotton):

• Time Period Themes: (1920’s, 1970’s, etc.):

• Item Themes (Notice a hat in every image, or a pencil skirt pinned five
times?) Take note of repeated items and accessories:

2. WHY
Let’s dive a little deeper into these images and why you love them. Why
faux fur? Why denim paired with sequins? Why pumps? Why cowboy
boots? What is the feeling they evoke in you? Choose a few items from
your Pinterest board and write down why they inspire you so:

3. HOW

Now that you have a bit more context, let’s choose your primary and sec-
ondary style words. Use the style words found on the following page as
inspiration for summarizing your taste. As an example, if you go to my
board Kitty Style, my primary keywords are feminine, sensual,
shapely. My secondary keywords are glamorous, elegant, inviting.

Having these keywords means that when you are shopping or dressing
you can ask yourself, does this resonate with my true style, or is this just a
passing fancy? Use your keywords as an atlas for establishing and experi-
menting with your Signature Style.

better. I have style.

STEP THREE:
EA SE & EFFORT

Now that you have your keywords, (and remember, you can always change
them and switch them up) where do you excel in when it comes to style?
For me, it's evening wear. Give me 15 minutes and I'll be gala ready,
guaranteed. But a last minute casual BBQ? Heavens! I am the definition
of flummoxed. (In fact, I have a whole Pinterest board called "Casual?
What's that?") Let's identify your areas of ease and effort:

I FIND IT EASY TO DRESS FOR: (examples: work, date night,

the gym, coffee dates, going dancing...)

STEP FOUR:
O N E D E TA I L AT A T I M E

Now that you have your data collected, let's put it into prac-
tice! On the following page you will find a worksheet. Fill in
column 2 with the style you currently have, and in column 3,
use your keywords to think of details that will amp it up to
include your signature style! For example:

I am great at glam, not so great at casual. So when I go to coffee with a

friend, I am usually wearing a great fitting pair of jeans, booties and a sweat-
er. Knowing that my keywords are feminine, sensual, shapely, glamorous,
elegant and inviting, some details I could add from my signature style are:

• An off the shoulder sweater and some snazzy earrings

• Swap out the jeans for a pencil skirt
• Wear purple peep toe pumps instead of boots
• Add a lavaliere necklace
• Add a shawl with long feminine fringe
• Look for sweaters with a faux-fur collar or cuffs

For lounging at home (also not my forte), I normally wear yoga pants and a
tank top. Some details I could add based on my keywords are:

• A soft, cotton dressing gown

• A comfy, cotton sun dress
• Vintage thrift store slips
• Soft slippers with a marabou pom-pom
• A lacey camisole with a cashmere, belted cardigan

Now, it's your turn!
