CRIME REPORT

(1) Nature of the case: Murder using firearm


(2) Victim: Dan Mariano
(3) Suspect: Eric Teng Fortuna
(4) Date/Time/Place of the incident: May 16, 2018, around 10am onwards
Witness: Jonalyn Ferrer Mariano, 25 years old,
single, resident of 12 Dela Fuente Street, Manila
Luz Ferrer Mariano, married, resident of 12 Dela
Fuente Street, Manila

(7) Facts:

At around 11:00am, Jonalyn Mariano went to the Welcome Rotonda Police Station in a
shocked appearance and panicking. She was helped to calm down and given time to relax a
little. She relayed that there was a shooting incident at their home and she saw it in her own
eyes. A team of police officers called an ambulance in advance towards the house of the victim,
then went there with Jonalyn. When the police officers arrived at the house, they immediately
saw Eric Fortuna with his hands raised up as if surrendering.

Eric Fortuna was arrested and was informed of his miranda rights. He was frisked, and a
gun was recovered from him. After that, Eric was brought to the Welcome Rotonda Police
Station, where the incident was recorded, and Eric was detained therein.

A few minutes later, Jonalyn and Luz Mariano came also to the Welcome Rotonda
Police Station. Each of them executed their sinumpaang salaysay on what had happened in the
house. They also identified Eric Fortuna to be the person who did the shooting.’
The gun recovered was referred for the Firearms Identification Report, while the accused
was made to undergo paraffin testing.

Then, the accused was brought for Inquest.
