INTRODUCTION
The Jai Beverage .Pvt. Ltd. is the franchise of operation of Pepsico
India holdings. The Jai Puri group is the biggest bottler in country
having around 20 plants in India. The Jai Beverage Pvt. Ltd. Jammu
was established in April 1999. The plant is spread over 16 acres of land,
having total employee strength of 150. Jai Beverage Pvt. Ltd. Make the
Pepsico products like:-

WATER TREATMENT PLANT

Water is essential component of earth. It is used for many purposes like


in manufacturing of various products like fruit juices ,beer ,wine ,soft
drink and other beverages.Water is a major ingradient in carbonated soft
drinks accounting for as much as 92% by volume is water.
It is essential that water be as nearly chemically pure as is commercially
feasible, since trace of impurities react with each other constituents of
drink. The alkalinity to the beverage water must be low to prevent
neutralization of acid used in beverage, which would after favor and
decrease the preservative property of the beverage.
Iron and manganese must be in low quantities to prevent reaction with
coloring agents and flavor components.
Turbidity and color must be low for an attractive appearance of the drink
to achieve high water standards. Bottling plants generally condition
water with additional treatments such as chemical precipitation of
minerals , deionization addition of activated charcoal to remove odors,
flavors and residual chlorine ,final paper filteration to remove traces that
my pass the carbon filter and de- aeration to remove oxygen.
