Rehabilitation of Talacagay, Brgy. Bacuyangan to Brgy.

Damutan FMR
with Bridge

Generally, the roads are gravel/earth which is passable during wet and
dry season but needs improvement.

Damutan. The subproject will commence at sta 00+000 and will traverse a major
road crossing called Sangke River thru a proposed subproject, a 30 ln.m. PSCG
Bridge.

The proposed subproject has a total road length of 26.962 kms. with an
average existing road width of 5 meters. To meet the minimum road width of 10
meters, there will be side cuts at sta. 101+800 up to 101+980 and thru cuts at sta.
102+000 up to 102+080. Aside from these two sections, there is other section that Commented [sd1]: Check with the plan the stations for

Barangay Baviera, Barangay Sewahon and Barangay Colonia Divina of Sagay City, Barangay
CF Villacin of Cadiz City also uses this road for this is the only access road available to the
community.

road length of 27 kms and a formation width of 10 meters in which it includes 5-
meter carriage way, 1.5-meter shoulder adjacent to the sides of the carriage way,
and 1-meter ditch. The sub-project will traverse an existing steel bridge having a
length of 18m and located at approximately four (4) kilometers away from the start
of the sub-project. The said steel bridge will be retained and adjacent to that, a 18-m
Reinforced Concrete Deck Girder (RCDG) type of bridge will be proposed.

iii. Drainage analysis/hydraulic analysis
From the start of project, it was observed that the existing PCCP, width of 6
meters and length of 168 meters, was already dilapidated and need to removed and
replaced. Canals had been established on both sides of the road, with lateral and
cross drainage. Preliminary site investigation showed that some RCPC used for
Cross Drainage had demonstrated visible lateral cracking and some are already
dilapidated. In view of this, it is recommended that some of the existing Reinforced
Concrete Pipe Culvert (RCPC) be removed and replaced by DPWH standard RCPC
(0.610 mm diameter for lateral pipes and 0.910 mm diameter for cross drainages)
with protective headwall, wing-wall and apron for cross drainages to mitigate
scouring. Quantity of 178 linear meter of RCPC (0.910 mm diameter) and 80 linear
meter RCPC (0.610 mm diameter) needs to be removed and replaced and separately
proposes 30 linear meters of 0.610 mm diameter lateral pipes and 442 linear
meters cross drainages (0.910 mm diameter RCPC). While, 2747 linear meters
existing RCPC will be retained.
The road has an existing width averaging to five (5) meters. Since the sub- Formatted: List Paragraph
project requires a formation width of ten (10) meters, there is still area that needs
to be side-cut or fill. With that, embankment and slope protections made of grouted
riprap stone masonry (9765 1,369 cubic meters) are necessary to mitigate scouring.
Moreover, since the project is located at mountainous area, the rate of run-off
coming from higher area has a damaging effect on the road surface. With that, 6000
6884 cubic meters of lined canal made of stone masonry are also necessary.

There are two major road crossings in the proposed subproject FMR namely
Sangke River and Pinamintigan creek. At sta. 4+403.00, a steel bridge is currently Commented [sd5]: Check with google map

and Damutan. A 30-meter Post Tensioned Concrete Girder Bridge on spread
foundation will be constructed over Sangke River and will replaced the old steel
bridge.

The second road crossing is Pinamintigan creek, it is located at station Formatted: Font color: Red
26+952.00 and an existing 9-m wooden make-shift bridge currently serves the
public and it will be replaced by Because of the rugged and rolling topography, Formatted: Highlight
drainage canals will be in place on the side cuts to facilitate the flow of water
towards the RCPC and prevent it from eroding the existing concrete pavement
structures.
