My Teacher is Mr.

Experience

Nothing beats experience as the perfect learning tool. This On-the-Job Training served as my
stepping stone in becoming a Certified Public Accountant. This training inspired me to become serious
and focus in studying. I am really thankful to Commission on Audit-Provincial Satellite Auditing Office
specifically the Audit Team 03,Cagayan 1. To Maam Karen Alvarez (Audit Team Leader), Sir
JakeTaguinod and MaamNoereenGaringan (Audit Team Members) I really appreciate their help, patience
and understanding during the training.

During the first day, We were wearing our corporate attire and I’m quite nervous but meeting
them makes me comfortable. The first task they ask me to do is to compute the total amount of Personnel
Services of different Barangays in Amulung. In this task, I really see the application of what we have been
computing at the classroom. Since we are assisting in the Auditing of different Barangays, we usually do
thing the same for how many days. But you would never feel bored, because there Auditors are always
crack a joke and fun to be with.

One of the overwhelming task I made was to assist in the auditing of financial statement. There a
lot of learning on how accounting theories being teach in the classroom and how it is being applied and
how accounting theories differ from actual work. But being with approachable Supervisors, tasks is much
easier for me.

During the internship, even though the air-con does not work and it's really hot while we were
wearing a corporate attire, all of us doesnt care since all are busy doing BAAR(Barangay Annual Audit
Report). It is where you see the Auditor Opinion, Audit Recommendation and Status of Implementation of
Barangays of past findings. It really feels great to see the actual things what we have learning in school.

Staying at COA- PSAO, you would really encounter different kind of documents. Most of them is
new to me but I’m thankful that my supervisors are really patient in explaining the what are the use of
these document and what it contains.

Most of us intern, we are busy of assisting in the Cash exam. Doing the cash exam, it really
needs to be careful on computing a pile of receipts. It also needs patience because you would be
computing different receipt which most it are in the same amount and it needs to be computed it twice or
more. Iven done Cash exam for more than a week which really requires a lot of patience.

In our 200 hours of training,I have learned to be a good team player and bringing out the best of
me in every task. We all know how imporantt leaders are, but let's not forget importance of being a
member. Success does not happen just because of having a good leader,Success also happen because of
good members.
But the best thing I’ve learned is how you treat others with respect and to work with integrity.
Treating workplace as a home and treating co-workers as a family will help you cope up and enjoy your
stay in COA- PSAO. And working with integrity where you will feel proud, credible and trustworthy.
