Vaccination: to be Implemented or Disregarded?

Vaccines, substances that are usually injected to a person or animal to protect against to a
particular disease, had been around since 1796 when a British physician named Edward Jenner used the
cowpox virus to confer protection against smallpox in humans. Further studies improved the
effectiveness of vaccines and helped the lives of numerous people globally. However, there are still lots
of people who are against of the idea of being vaccinated, causing the rate of vaccination to decrease.
Here in the Philippines, it depleted to fifty to sixty percent, mainly because of the dengue vaccine called
Dengvaxia which addressed killed 14 children. In United Kingdom, the public had a strong reaction
against the MMR vaccine which stands for measles, mumps and rubella, after false claims arose in 1998
linking it to autism. Pakistan has seen the most brutal anti-immunization campaign in past years, where
the Taliban have killed polio workers, accusing them of trying to sterilize the population and of doubling
as foreign spies. This medication that is considered to be among the greatest inventions of all time had
lost the trust of the netizens. So as for we strongly believe that vaccination is a great way to make lives
of people more sustainable, this paper will convince the society to be in favor to immunization and get
vaccinated.

There are various ideas related to vaccines and because of improper knowledge about the
accurate outcomes of vaccines, it affects how people think about getting immunized. The public
believes that the implementation of vaccines is for the administration to earn money. Where in fact, the
World Health Organization, a government sector is giving some free vaccinations, especially for kids,
intended for the good of the general public.

Also, a major factor that effects people is that vaccines are expensive. But if truth be told, it
will lessen our expenditures. Immunizations’ main purpose is to prevent diseases which means it is
money and timesaving for us, for the reason that being hospitalized, buying medicines and checkups
will be avoided.

Another aspect is religion and philosophy. Some religious sectors and institute leaders have
faith that everything happens for a reason. They presume that it is in the nature of human beings to have
illnesses. However, vaccination was primarily formulated for fatal diseases caused by viruses that can’t
be cured by medicines nor the human immune system naturally.

Additional factor supporting anti-vaxxers are the claims that vaccines have chemicals that will
cause side effects to the person injected. Indeed, it has chemicals like mercury, aluminum and
formaldehyde that can be toxic. But then again, if we will study further about this, the dose, which
makes the poison, of the chemicals in vaccines are negligible which only means that it isn’t bad to our
health. Vaccines actually deceased the rate of outbreaks of congenital rubella syndrome, Invasive
Hemophilus influenzae, measles, mumps, pertussis, rubella, tetanus, meningitis and Hepatitis B
outbreaks, while eradicated smallpox, poliomyelitis (wild) and diphtheria. On the other hand, the issue
about autism, a variable developmental disorder arose from one article released that was later been
revealed to be fraud and replaced by hundreds of articles claiming that vaccines do not truly cause
autism.

Vaccination had really made an impact in changing human lives. For in fact, it already saved
millions of lives of people from fatal illnesses and based on some theories, extinction of humans is one
of the viewed possible and most dangerous outcomes if vaccines haven’t invented in the first place. So,
there are potentials that can put the future generations at risk if you do not get vaccinated now.
Therefore, government should take an action of increasing the availability of vaccines so that it will be
more accessible to all the people around the world and for us to achieve herd immunity. They should
also conduct more studies that can improve the quality of the vaccination that will eventually gain the
trust of the public. If these will be accomplished, then we can make a safer and better society. And with
that being said, we, the pro-vaccines highly recommend everyone to go to your nearest medical facility
and get vaccinated now. Always remember, prevention is better than cure.
