Our top variable is Gasoline Price with an R2 of 0.854.

According to the data, if we look at

inflation and Gasoline Price, we will find that as inflation increases, the Gasoline Price increases as well.
This means that as the value of one variable increases, in this case inflation, the other increases as well.
Hence, the variables are related, and because both are going up, it is a positive correlation.

The price of Diesel, our second top variable with an R2 of 0.84 is also related to inflation, both
have the same increasing effect as between Gasoline and Inflation and also a positive correlation.

The price of Gasoline, the price of diesel, and inflation are often seen as being connected in a cause-and-
effect relationship. As gasoline and diesel prices move up or down, inflation follows in the same
direction. The reason why this happens is that gasoline and diesel is a major input in the economy. it is
used in critical activities such as fueling transportation and heating homes and if input costs rise, so
should the cost of end products.

Third is Evaporated Filled with an R2 of 0.743 and forth we have Ligo Sardines with an R2 of
0.714. The positive correlation of both evaporated milk and ligo sardines shows that these agricultural
products have enough to driving force to increase inflation rates. Considering that fact that evaporated
milk and ligo sardines are regular consumption of Filipinos. Evaporated milk, a popular refreshment and
nourishment to both young and old and Ligo Sardines, a popular cheap commodity for both the rich and
the poor.

And lastly, our fifth variable, the chicken with an R2 of 0.669. The same with our top variables
the relationship between the chicken and inflation rate has a positive slope. Chickens are known as the
most common, and probably the most populous bird species on earth. That's certainly true in the
Philippines where chickens outnumber Filipinos. We love chickens, for many reasons, but mainly for
food. Chicken meat is way cheaper than pork or beef, and healthier to eat as it has lower fat. Pinoys also
cook chicken in strange ways, leaving no part to waste and we Filipinos do love our Jollibee's Chicken Joy
and Max's Chicken.
