INFLUENCE OF AUTOMATION SYSTEM IN INDONESIA

Currently, the industrial world has used an automation system, because now we
have entered the era of globalization. Nearly 90 percents of companies in Indonesia
use an automation system. Automation is needed, because with automation, there are
so many advantages. For example, companies can produce more products with
automation than using human power. Many companies cut their employees, because
they prefer to use robots as a tool that helps the production. Besides being faster at
work, the robotic system used in automation is also better and have a good quality
more than human. With the existence of robots that help production, the employee's
role can be automatically replaced by a robot. Therefore, the company will be more
efficient in terms of expenditure for production, because they don’t need to pay
employees. In addition to being cheaper in production, with robots in production,
companies feel safer because all of them use the system, and can reduce work
accidents, except the systems that are damaged. Lately we have heard about the
emergence of system 4.0. The system 4.0 is an IOT (internet of thing) system. With
the system 4.0, everything can be controlled with an internet-based system. We only
need to download the software to operate a machine. We don’t need to use a cable as
a connector, but instead use a wifi network. So that, we can operate a machine
remotely, and only need a few operators to monitor it.
 The system of 4.0 has been used in many machine systems, for example CNC
Turning and CNC Milling machines. Now, we can operate the machine with a
smartphone that has software installed from the system. In addition to operate the
machine, we can also program the machine to form the type of production and make
it as well as we want, with the machine. However, with the sophistication that has
been created, it means that the role of humans has begun to be replaced. The
unemployment rate starts to grow and the poverty rate gets higher. But actually it's
not an obstacle. As a human being, we should be increasingly creative and have an
expertise to be able to compete in the industrial world. It also should be an
encouragement for today's easy generation, to continue and complete the education. If
we have expertise in the industry, we can compete with others. We can develop our
expertise by participating in many various certifications in industry, such as
engineering certification, occupational safety and health (K3) and many others.
