Instructions for the Candidate
(Please read the instructions carefully and follow them properly)

1. Candidates will not be allowed to take examination without the Admit Card.
2. Candidates must also carry a valid photo id card.
3. Candidates should reach the test venue as per the reporting time specified in the Admit Card. Late comers beyond
10:30 hrs will not be permitted to appear in the test.
4. Candidates must thoroughly go through the instructions printed at the beginning of the question booklet before starting
to answer questions.
5. Candidates are required to mark the answers on Optical Mark Reader (OMR) using only blue/black ball point pen, which is
to be carried by candidates.
6. In the Question booklet and OMR, there are three sections: A, B and C, with 25, 15 and 10 questions respectively. Each
question in parts A and B has only one correct answer. Darkening more than one circle in parts A and B will amount to
wrong answer. Please refer to the instructions provided in the beginning of the question booklet about negative marking.
7. In part C each question needs to be answered by darkening four circles as detailed in the intructions provided in the
question booklet.
8. At the end of the test, carefully tear the OMR sheet along the marked line and return the original OMR sheet to the
Invigilator, failing which, will lead to rejection of candidature.
9. Candidates can carry the copy of the OMR sheet.
10. Candidates can carry the question booklet with them only at the end of the test.
11. Only Non-Programmable scientific calculator is allowed, but exchange of the calculators among the candidates is not
permitted. Use of other items like electronic diary, writing pads, pencil box, beepers, cameras, mobile phone, palmtops,
laptops, pagers etc., are not permitted inside the examination hall. Candidates shall have to leave the same, at their
own risk, outside the Examination Hall. Any candidate found in possession of such unauthorized material or indulging in
copying or adopting unfair means will be summarily disqualified.
12. Candidates indulging in copying or adopting unfair means at any stage of the examination will be summarily disqualified.
13. Other than medical emergency, candidates shall not be allowed to leave the Examination Hall till the end of the test.
14. Candidates must make their maximum effort to take the test in the centre mentioned in their admit card. In case a
candidate chooses to appear from a centre other than the one mentioned in the admit card without approval of the
officiating body of JEST (jest2019@iiisertvm.ac.in), then it is not guaranteed that test material will be available at that
centre for the candidate to take the test.
15. Please note that ensuring eligibility for selection to the different academic programs which use JEST as a screening test,
exclusively rests on candidates. JEST does not verify eligibility of candidates based on the data provided by candidates in
the application form.
