Test Information

• The Mock Paper consists of 15 problems (50 marks) . Questions 1 − 3 carry 2 marks each, 4 − 11
carry 3 marks each and the remaining questions (12 − 15) carry 5 marks each.
• The paper is supposed to be solved in 1 hour 30 mins. If you take more time, mention the questions
solved within the time limit to ensure proper marking.
• Only pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, rulers and a countdown timer/stopwatch (in
some form) is allowed.
• Calculators, drawing aids such as graph paper, geogebra etc are NOT permitted.
• Your score depends on the number of questions answered correctly and there is no Negative Marking.
• Malpractice isn’t encouraged though it might help you get into the leader-board. Also there won’t
be any FIR filed against you under any circumstance.
• Participation in the mock test is definitely free.

Following questions carry 2 marks each :-

1. 30 persons can sit in 5 distinguishable circular tables, 6 persons each in pq ways where p, q are
co-prime natural numbers. Find the value of p + q.
2. (p, m, n) are natural numbers such that p is a prime and 2m p2 + 1 = n5 . Find the value of p + m + n.
3. A, B, C are 3 sets such that A ∪ B ∪ C = (1, 2, · · · , 2018), A ∩ B ∩ C = φ. Number of such A, B, C
is T 2018 . Find T .

Following questions carry 3 marks each :-

4. p3 = 5x + 2 where p is a prime and x is a natural number. Find the number of solutions of this
equation.
5. (a, b, n) are 3 natural numbers such that n = a2 + b2 . b is a divisor of n and a is the smallest divisor
of n apart from 1. Find the sum of all possible values of n.
6. ABCD is a parallelogram in which P Q is a side parallel to AB and RS is a side parallel to BC.
P Q and RS intersect at T . Area of P T SD is 25 sq. unit and area of RT QB is 15 sq. unit. Find
the area of 4AT C.

13. How many positive reals less than 100 can be expressed in xbxc form where x is a natural number?
14. Let n be the number of 5−element subsets that can be chosen from the set of the first 14 natural

15. P (x) be a polynomial with non-negative integer coefficients such that P (0) = 33, P (1) = 40, P (9) =
