Lesson Plan in Science 8

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to;

 Analyze the process of water cycle

 Appreciate the benefits of water cycle
 Demonstrate the process of water cycle

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic:
- The Water Cycle

III. PROCEDURE

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

A. PRAYER
Let us pray. Claudio please lead the prayer.
Our God, thank you for this day. Please lead us.
Amen.
B. GREETINGS
Good morning class!
Good morning and welcome Sir Jherven!
Before you sit, kindly pick up the pieces of
trashes and arrange your chairs.
Thank you Sir.

C. CHECKING OF ATTENDANCE
Ms. Secretary who is absent for today?
I am proud to say that no one is absent
today!
Very good class!

D. REVIEW
This time, let us have a game that will test
your prior knowledge about the topic. This game
is called “Fact or Bluff”. Raise your Fact flag if the
statement is true and Bluff flag if the statement is
false. Group 1 & 2 versus group 3 & 4. The
winning group will get the prize. Are you ready?
Yes sir!
Question 1: Hot water can freeze faster than cold
water
Fact
Question 2: A person can survive a month
without food and water.
Bluff
Question 3: Water is a resource that cannot be
created by man.
Fact
Question 4: About 71% of the Earth's surface is
covered with water.
Fact
Question 5: 20% of the water on Earth is
freshwater or water that we can drink
Bluff
Very good! (The prize will be given to the
winning team)

E. MOTIVATION
I have here a video. Watch it carefully and
observe. (The student will watch the video)

What is the video all about?

It is all about the life story of water.

What do you think is the cause of rising up

of the droplets in the sky?
It’s because of sunlight hitting them that
What was formed as the droplets jumped turns them into a water vapor.
off the clouds?
The droplets formed a rain.
Very good!

F. PRE-ACTIVITY

Group the student into 4 and do the activity 1

The water cycle.
After the activity, the students should be able
to;

1. Simulate the process of water cycle

2. Describe how the water droplets form?
(The students will do the activity 1)
G. POST-ACTIVITY
Presentation of output

Question number 1:
What happened to the water as it is
continually heated?
The water rise up to the cling film

Question number 2:
What was formed under the cling film? Tiny droplets are formed under the cling
film.

Question number 3:
What happened to the water droplets
under the cling film? The tiny droplets will grow bigger and may
fall back to the water surface.

The teacher will present another simulation

using distillation process.

H. DEEPENING
Now for the next activity, I have here a
model of water cycle. All you have to do is to
paste the process according to its correct pattern.
I’ll give you the words that you will paste using a
game called “WIKARAMBULAN”

Word number 1: Eve Up Oration

EVAPORATION
Very good! It occurs when the sunlight hit a
body of water. The sunlight turns water into
water vapors that goes up to the sky.

Word number 2: Cone Then Session

CONDENSATION
Good job! It happens when the water vapor
comes up together to form clouds.

Word number 3: Free Sip It Tea Shown

PRECIPITATION
Very good! It Comes when the clouds filled with
water vapors becomes too heavy & cannot hold
anymore this water inside. It bursts out and
released it in the form of rain.

Word number 4: Cool Heck Shown

COLLECTION
Good job! It is the process where the rain water is
collected back to the bodies of water like ocean,
rivers, and lakes.

That is the Water Cycle. It is a continuous

process of evaporation, condensation,
precipitation and collection.

I. GENERALIZATION
What are the process involved in water
cycle? (The students will watch a video)

J. APPLICATION
Give the importance of water cycle in our
ecosystem.

Well said! If it didn’t rain we wouldn’t have

water on our entire planet. The plants, animals
and humans may die.

Do you have any question?

K. EVALUATION

Prepare ¼ sheet of paper. Write the letters Water cycle gives us rain and also recycles
of the correct answer water for us.
Multiple choices

a. Sun
b. Clouds None.
c. Rain
d. Ocean
2. Which is the gaseous form of water
a. Air
b. Wind
c. Water vapor
d. Snow
3. Which process of water cycle portrays the
falling back of water in the oceans, rivers,
lakes, and streams.
a. Collection
b. Condensation
c. Evaporation
d. Precipitation
4. It the process by which the condensed
water vapor falls back on the earth’s
surface in the forms of rain, hail and
snow.
a. Collection
b. Condensation
c. Evaporation
d. Precipitation
5. Which of the following is the correct
process of water cycle?
a. Evaporation-Condensation-
Collection-Precipitation
b. Precipitation-Condensation-
Collection-Evaporation
c. Evaporation-Condensation-
Precipitation -Collection
d. Condensation-Evaporation-
Collection-Precipitation

Count the number of the correct answers.

Pass your papers forward.
