Profile Summary

I am a young, ambitious enthusiastic student teacher who strives to problem solve in the classroom
using new creative and innovative approaches, including the use of technology and personal resources.
High technical skills in areas such as Solidworks, CAD, and other software platforms allow for the most
effective and enjoyable learning to take place in the class. The ability to adapt to situations in the
classroom and to students needs along with the ability to work under pressure allow for the highest
standard of teaching under any situation or environment. I constantly look to engage the students in
each class using effective and efficient methods of teaching always looking to push the boundaries.

Key Skills

Through my experiences in the field of teaching to date, I have acquired and developed a vast array of
valuable teaching skills and overcame challenging but meaningful experiences. One key skill which I
developed during my placement was the ability to effetely cater for a mixed ability class. Through
effective communication with my cooperating teacher, along with personal well thought out innovative
and creative approaches to teaching I was able to effectively deal with a high level of mixed ability and
multi culture in the classroom. An example of this being the use of looped demonstration videos,
created personally for each class meeting the requirements of the specific class and the abilities of the
students. Key skills which I developed through this process such as problem solving, adaptability and
relationship building with the class will stand to me as I progress through my teaching career and
encounter similar problems in the future. Having taught in DEIS schools, my planning and organization
skills along with my ability to work under pressure are of the highest level, due to the high necessities of
the school environment.

Interests and Achievements

I am a sports enthusiast and represented not only my club but also my county, in Hurling and Gaelic
from U14 to U21 and now senior. I have won many championship titles and league titles along the way,
with significant achievements such as playing half time at the 2015 Senior All Ireland Hurling final, along
with winning an All-Ireland medal myself. I have also recently began helping the coaching of my local
camogie club Longford Slashers alongside my brother who runs the camogie club. Through these
experiences I built great leadership, communication and team work skills.
