Meeting minutes

Andy
Andy reported that one new Grade 7 student is starting in 2 weeks.

There will also be another Japanese student starting from the middle of April.

Shun lin
Has a special education background (Master’s degree).

Kevin has a form of learning disability affecting his ability to concentrate. High IQ, but has
trouble expressing himself. Writing in particular is difficult. High ability in maths and
physics; possibly related to his need for mental organisation.

Teacher’s writing on the white board should be more organised. This will aid his ability to
organise his thoughts and writing. The problem is perhaps also connected to his English
ability, and several teachers agree that this is the issue or a key part of his problem.
Quizzes can be oral instead of written.

Gene Sorum

Reported:
 Difficulties with international curriculum
 IELTS training will be provided soon
 Mid-terms exams 4/8 – 4/12
 Mid-term papers should be submitted by 4/1
◦ Can be not only quizzes, but also presentations, experiments, written papers or
other creative means
 Problems with student emails (Chinese/English language)
 Gave praise to staff for student/teacher relationships and in terms of cooperation
 improvements in staff punctuality

Patrick
