Pre-Arrival Checklist for International Students

Fall 2019-20

Respond to your offer

 Submit all required documents to the Office of Admissions.
 Confirm your enrollment to the Office of Admissions. Refer to your acceptance email for detailed
instructions.

Acceptance email
 Carry a copy of your acceptance email in your hand luggage when you travel to AUB. Do not pack this
letter in your suitcase. The acceptance email will serve as identification when arriving at Beirut Airport
and entering the campus gates and is needed for certain placement tests and registration.

Health
 Visit your doctor or family medicine practitioner in your home country and obtain the vaccinations
required in accordance with this Medical Form.
 Submit your medical record ONLINE to the Department of Family Medicine.

Travel
 Your passport MUST be valid for a minimum of ONE YEAR.
 Make sure your passport does NOT include visa stamps from the “State of Israel”, OR stamps from
“Israeli” land border posts in Jordan and Egypt or you may be denied entry to Lebanon. You should
also keep in mind that being born in Occupied Palestine and your passport indicates so, you could
face a delay at the airport.
 Book your plane ticket to Lebanon! Plan to arrive in Beirut NO later than one day prior to your group
specific orientation. Visit the Orientation page for more information
 Before arriving in Lebanon, register with the embassy of your country of origin. In most cases, this
can be done online. Here is a list of embassies and consulates for your reference.
 If you need a visa to enter Lebanon, please visit this page for important information. .
 OIP will be facilitating a fee-paying airport pick up service on Friday August 23 & Saturday August
24 for flights arriving between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM ONLY (To secure your spot, please complete
this short form by Wednesday August 14. If you are arriving outside these hours, you will need to
arrange for your own airport pick-up prior to your arrival. Information on airport transport can be
found in our “Off Campus guide” section in our “Accepted Students” page.
  Pack appropriate clothes for the weather in Lebanon. You will be in Beirut during the winter and
spring seasons. Refer to our “Off Campus guide” for more information

Housing
 For on-campus housing, you can submit the housing application starting Wednesday May 1 until
Sunday June 30. Note that you will not be able to access the housing application before
Wednesday May 1, 2019. Information on on-campus student housing can be found HERE.
 Refer to the Off-Campus Guide for off-campus housing options.

Tuition Fees for New Students

 Visiting Students (non-exchange) and degree-seeking students will be issued a statement of fees
after registration period. The Statement of Fees includes tuition, and miscellaneous fees.
 Exchange students will not be required to pay AUB’s tuition fees however they are responsible for
settling the miscellaneous fees. For a breakdown of the fees refer to this page.

OIP Orientation Week

 New International Degree-seeking and Visiting/Exchange students should register for the
International Student Welcome Day by August 18, 2019.
 All New International degree-seeking students should attend their group specific orientation AND
register for the International Student Welcome Day.

Academics & Registration

 Check the full list of courses offered per semester
 If you are an Exchange or a Visiting student and have submitted all the required documents to the
Office of Admissions, you will have the option to pre-enroll in your courses. To do so, you must send
us your chosen courses by Sunday April 21, 2019. For more information, refer to the pre-enrollment
guidelines. *Please note that the fall 19-20 course schedule should be available starting April 8
