MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES. THIS IS TO PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/
OR DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE DUCTS OR COMPONENTS OF THE AIR BLEED SYSTEM
IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE SYSTEM STOPS ITS OPERATION. THE HIGH AIR
TEMPERATURE CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(2) Do the procedure to make the aircraft safe for maintenance of the powerplant (AMM
TASK 71-00-00-910-801-A/200).
SUBTASK 860-001-A
(3) Connect the external AC power supply to the aircraft (AMM TASK 24-42-02-860-801-
A/200).
(4) On the overhead panel, on the AIR COND/PNEUMATIC control panel, set these
switches to the unlatched (off) position (a striped bar comes into view):
• BLEED1
• BLEED2
• BLEED APU
• XBLEED
(5) Put a DO NOT OPERATE tag on the AIR COND/PNEUMATIC control panel.
(6) Make sure that the engines (AMM TASK 71-00-01-910-806-A/200) and the APU (AMM
TASK 49-10-00-910-802-A/200) are not in operation.
(7) Make sure that the SLAT/FLAP lever is in the zero-degree position and put a DO NOT
OPERATE tag on it.
SUBTASK 010-008-A
(8) Get access to the middle avionics compartment as follows:
(a) Open access door 199AL.
(b) Open and remove access door 147AL (AMM TASK 52-46-00-000-801-A/400).
SUBTASK 862-014-A

SUBTASK 010-007-A
WARNING: FOLLOW THE CORRECT SEQUENCE WHEN YOU DO THE SPECIFIED TASKS
TO OPEN THE THRUST REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS
INSTRUCTION, INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN
OCCUR.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE LEADING EDGE SLATS ARE RETRACTED AND NOT IN
OPERATION BEFORE YOU OPEN THE THRUST REVERSER. WHEN THE
THRUST REVERSER IS OPEN, THE EXTENDED LEADING EDGE SLATS CAN HIT
IT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE SLAT LEADING
EDGE AND THRUST REVERSER CAN OCCUR.
(b) Use GSE 060 to open access door 415AL (AMM TASK 78-30-01-910-801-A/
200).
(b) Use GSE 060 to open access door 425AL (AMM TASK 78-30-01-910-801-A/
200).
CAUTION: PUT CAPS ON ALL LINES AND FITTINGS AND MAKE SURE THAT THE AREA IS
CLEAN AND FREE OF ALL UNWANTED FLUID. DIRT CAN CAUSE SYSTEM
CONTAMINATION, LEAKAGE, AND DAMAGE TO COMPONENTS.
(c) Disconnect the pressure-control servo line (11) from the adapter (10).
(h) Disconnect the engine bleed lines (1) and (2) from the NAPRSOV (8).

SUBTASK 860-002-A
(1) Make sure that the aircraft is in the same configuration as it was at the end of the
removal task (AMM TASK 36-11-03-000-801-A/400).
(b) If the cap assembly was removed, install the cap assembly on the NAPRSOV (8)
as follows. Refer to figure Figure 401.
2 Torque the cap assembly nut to 20.60 to 23.73 N.m (200 to 210 lb.in) with a
torque wrench.
(d) Align the NAPRSOV (8) with the engine bleed lines (1) and (2).

(l) With a torque wrench, apply torque of 6.78 to 7.91 N.m (60 to 70 lb.in) to the nut
(12) and (15).
(m) With a torque wrench, apply torque of 6.78 to 7.91 N.m (60 to 70 lb.in) to the nuts
of the rod (5).
(n) With a torque wrench, apply torque of 12.00 to 14.00 N.m (106 to 124 lb.in) to the
nuts of the couplings (7). Refer to AMM TASK 20-10-12-910-801-A/200.
(o) With a torque wrench, apply torque of 12.00 to 14.00 N.m (106 to 124 lb.in) to the
nuts of the couplings (3) and (4). Refer to AMM TASK 20-10-12-910-801-A/200.

SUBTASK 410-007-A
CAUTION: EXAMINE ALL THE WORK AREAS TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU REMOVED ALL
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT AFTER YOU COMPLETED THE WORK. IF YOU DO NOT
OBEY THIS PROCEDURE, DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT CAN OCCUR.
SUBTASK 862-015-A

operate) from this circuit breaker and close it:
• E2 REVERSER-RICC (DC BUS 2)
SUBTASK 410-008-A
(5) Close the access to the middle avionics compartment as follows:
(a) Install and close access door 147AL (AMM TASK 52-46-00-400-801-A/400).
SUBTASK 860-003-A
(6) Remove the DO NOT OPERATE tag from the AIR COND/PNEUMATIC control panel.
(7) Remove the DO NOT OPERATE tag from the slat/flap lever.
SUBTASK 790-002-A
(8) Do the leak test of the nacelle pressure-regulating shutoff-valves (AMM TASK
36-11-03-790-801-A/500).
NOTE: As an alternative procedure, you can do the leak test of the nacelle pressure-
regulating shutoff-valves as given in (AMM TASK 36-11-03-790-802-A/500). If
you do the leak test with the APU as a bleed source, you must not do it on the
two engines at the same time. You also must not do this leak test if the
opposite bleed system is already on the MEL, since the newly installed valve is
not functionally tested on the aircraft.
SUBTASK 861-002-A
(9) Disconnect the external AC power supply from the aircraft (AMM TASK
24-42-02-860-802-A/200).
TASK 36-11-03-040-801-A
EFFECTIVITY: ALL
(1) This task refers to item 36-11-03 - engine bleed valve (NAPRSOV) - of the DDPM and gives
the procedure to deactivate the nacelle pressure-regulating shutoff-valve
(2) The nacelle pressure-regulating shutoff-valves are installed in the LH and RH bleed ducts on
the outboard side of the engines, in the zones 416 and 426.
