BUSINESS ANALYST PROJECT

This is the LOGIVAN Business Analyst project. It contains 3 questions that allow you
to show the skills that would help you succeed at LOGIVAN. We are interested to see
how you think, so please show the reasons behind your answers and give as much
detail as you think is needed to clearly express your point. When you have completed
the project, please return it to hr@logivan.com.

To be clear about the terminology that we use, the word “shipper” refers to either the
cargo owner or an agent / broker acting on their behalf to transport cargo. The word
“driver” refers to our service provider / trucking partner who will collect and deliver
the cargo for the shipper.

Question 1

As a LOGIVAN business analyst, you would take charge for the gathering and presentation
of data.

LOGIVAN wants to introduce an up-front pricing feature. This means that a potential
SHIPPER can enter the details of their shipment and get an instant price quotation.

To build this feature, the team plans to gather relevant data. Your first job, as business
analyst, is to decide WHAT DATA SHOULD BE COLLECTED and proceed with data
collection.

Please make a plan for how you would gather data from users. In your answer, it would
be beneficial to include the exact questions you would ask, and how you would get in touch
with the relevant people to ask them. Please add any suggestions that may increase the
amount or quality of data you are able to gather.

Please give enough detail in your answer to allow us to understand exactly how you would
approach this problem.

Answer 1
Question 2

Your data gathering is successful and you obtain lots of information from users.

Basing your answer on the types of data you wanted to collect, please explain how you
would organise and interpret this data to inform your future product recommendations.

You may choose to make some example data to illustrate possible findings. This may make
it easier for you to explain how you would organise and interpret the data. If you choose to
create any data, we will not make judgements on the data you create - only the way you
organise and interpret it.

Answer 2

Question 3

Having gathered and interpreted your data, you are now left with findings that will inform
future product direction.

Please explain how you would present your findings to your team leader, in a way that
will best allow them to understand the data.

Would any statistical analysis of the data be appropriate? Would you use any charts or
graphs?

You may choose to use some sample data to illustrate how you would present and organise
your findings.

Answer 3

Thank you for completing the LOGIVAN Business Analyst Project. When you are
happy with your responses, please return the project to the LOGIVAN team. After
returning the project, we will be in touch with you in the next week. We wish you
every success in your application to LOGIVAN.
