I. LESSON OBJECTIVE
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. Identify the simple tenses of the verb.
b. Differentiate past, present and future tense of the verb.
c. Construct sentences using the tenses of the verb correctly.
II. MOTIVATION
Before proceeding to the lesson proper the teacher first give the student the instructions about the game,
YESTERDAY, TODAY, TOMORROW. The student will say something about what they did yesterday, what
they do today and what will they do tomorrow. To make it exciting the teacher will give a certain words where
they will be basing their sentences i.e. the word given is crush and picking nose “I saw my crush picking nose at
the park.”
A. Introduction
As a class, define a "verb." Inform students that verbs not only tell what action takes place, but also
when the action takes place. There are past, present, and future verb tenses.
B. Development
Use a transparency with 3 columns: PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE. Ask the students to place the following
events in the correct column. Write the events on the chart as the students suggest where they should go.
Some events may belong in more than one column.
The teacher now will determine if the students did it right and explain where each sentences belong.
Using the transparency chart with 3 columns: PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE the teacher will explain the
different functions of each kind of the tenses.
C. Practice
The students will work on the given activity. The teacher will be circulating to help with questions.
Direction: Underline the verb or the verb phrase in the sentence. Write PS if the sentence is in past tense. PR if it
is in the present tense and FT if it is in the future tense on the blank before each number.
D. Assignment
Write a reflection about the statement below. Make sure to use correct verb tenses in constructing your
sentences.
