Important information

Getting started

 Throughout your Vision2learn studies you will be supported by your placement college/training provider and
online Tutor. The course is 100% online and you do not have to visit the placement college/training provider
at any time.
 This course is available for you to study without charge as it is funded by the Skills Funding Agency. If for any
reason you do not complete the course the college may withdraw you and charge an administration fee to
recover some of the funding.

Studying with Vision2learn

 Once you have completed your induction, an action plan will be generated and your online Tutor will send
you a copy of the Vision2learn Learner Handbook. The Handbook has useful information such as tips for
successful studying and how to use the platform. It also contains handy hints and tips to help you with your
course assessments. Your action plan may be subject to change to accommodate any changes to the
college/training provider’s final course completion date.
 Your first assessment is due by the date generated on the action plan. You must ensure you meet your
remaining deadline dates.
 Each Vision2learn centre has a log on rule. This states that you must ensure you log on to your Vision2learn
course regularly each week and submit your first assessment no later than three weeks from completing your
induction. On the fourth week if you have not submitted any work, it will be assumed that you are no longer
interested in the programme and you may be withdrawn.
 Assessments can be submitted before the deadline date. We encourage you to submit each assessment as
soon as you complete it.
 It is important that you answer assessment questions in your own words in order to successfully pass your
course. So, while you may need to refer to the course materials to help you answer a question, you should not
copy passages or phrases word-for-word. This is known as plagiarism. If you are suspected of plagiarism you
may be asked to resubmit your assessment or, in serious circumstances, be removed from your course.
 All resubmissions should be returned to your tutor within 5 working days.
 If you are going to be away on holiday please send your online Tutor a message via the Vision2learn V-mail
system to let them know. For any issues you are experiencing with logging in or completing your course
please call the Learner Support Team on 0191 215 4100.
 Your online Tutor will be available to help with any queries you may have via the V-mail system on the
platform and will respond to your queries within two working days.
 Throughout your studies you should also check out our ‘Learning to learn’ section on the platform. It has
great extra resources designed to help you take control of your studies and to help you reach your learning
goals.

Course completion

 You will receive your certificate in the post directly from the college/training provider once they have claimed
this from a nationally recognised awarding body. It can take up to 16 weeks after successfully completing
final moderation in order to receive your certificate in the post. During this period if you do change address it is
important you let us know because this can affect you receiving your certificate.
 Approximately 4–6 weeks after you have completed your course, Vision2learn will email a link to a course
completion survey. We would really appreciate your feedback. You can also leave a review on our
Facebook page.
