Ways in which gender affects language use

The texts explain the different ways in which gender affects language use and how, in some languages, men
and women address different strategies to communicate or use completely different words or expressions
when referring to the same topics. For example, women have a tendency to be less direct than men do,
whereas men have a tendency to use short straight answers, affecting in some way their communication.
Another way language is affected by gender is the misconception that women talk more than men. A recent
study proved that men do have longer periods of time talking than women. This is probably due because men
used to have more participation or rule every aspect of society. However, in other context, such as expressing
their emotions, men reduce considerably their words to express feelings and find it difficult to put it into
words.
