Unit 3: Project Intentions


Directions: ​Submit this document along with your Unit 3 memoir. Responses should be complete,
detailed, and clearly explain the intentions and purpose of your memoir.

1. Define the ​subject​ and ​theme​ of your memoir.


Theme of this memoir is pressure from strict school’s regulation.
The subject is rebellion.

2. Define the ​tone​ of your memoir.


My memoir William have tone shifted from worried and pressure to energetic and self-esteem
after a story passed the climax. I want to get into a good University because I was insulted that I
won’t be success in the future by the teacher that I didn’t like.

3. Describe the plot in a few sentences.


When I was in grade 8, I want to change into a new school because I hate my previous school
rule and regulation. There were too many rules. They made Meyer become low self-esteem.
Once day, my homeroom teacher was very angry at me. She told me that I will not be success in
the future because I’m not follow some school rule. Thus,I decided to change school. I was very
happy even I have to Study hard because I came from Thai program. I know what I want to be
when I grow up because I have more times to think. Finally, I got accepted into Chula University,
which is one of the top University in Thailand. I realized that if I give up on what that teacher
said to me, I won’t have a chance to prove that I’m a strong person. Even it doesn’t prove that I
will be successful in the Future but it is one step toward my future career. I am so proud of it.

4. Which goal(s) are you hoping to achieve when creating this memoir?
I hope that my memoir will give an inspiration to readers. Don’t give up on things easily unless
you will regret. Good opportunities will come into our life and give a chance to prove ourselves.

5. For Written Memoirs​:​ A memoir is a portion of your life that is crafted into a story. Explain which
storytelling techniques (characterization, symbolism, climax/resolution, sensory details, etc.)
you will use to communicate a central message or theme.

For Graphic Memoirs​: ​A memoir is a portion of your life that is crafted into a story. Explain how
visual techniques (style, color, panels, gutters, emanata) will communicate a central message or
theme.

In this memoir, I create a graphic memoir because it’s easier to illustrate the idea to
readers. I didn’t use a computer to make panels because it will be very straight line. Thus,
unstraight panels represent the rules and regulations can be flexible. Moreover, the space
between panel is different depend on how I feel pressure toward strict rules. I used many
different color to emphasize my feeling to the surrounding. For example, I often used dark color
tones when I draw the teacher because it helps to demonstrate an intense to the readers. Those
color represent my feeling such as happiness, stress and sadness.

Planing

Panel1: Introduce character! This is me when I was in Grade 8.


Panel2: I’m studying at saint Joseph convent school.
Panel3: Today is my first day of school in Semester 2.
Panel4: Introduce character! This is my cousin Ting Ting. She is also my classmate.
Panel5: Introduce character! This is my English teacher. I don’t like her at all. She is more scary
than a ghost.

Teacher: This is not natural hair color.
Mill: It is my natural hair color!!!

Teacher: Do you go swim?
Mill: (Whattt??) uhh yesss! (That’s my natural hair color T^T).
Teacher: Ohhh I see?
Mill: (Hahaha. Actually that’s not true. Let me goooo)

Teacher: your uniform is not follow the school’s rules.
Teacher: It’s too loose. The skirt is shortt!

Teacher: ok go to that’s side (Break school rule).

Mill: I don’t think her hair is natural color. It should be whiteee! -3-
Ting: rippp myself.
Panel14: 1 month later
- Teacher: Ok students submitted your works.
- วาดเด็กสง่ งาน
Panal15:
- Teacher come into the room
- Ting said to mill: She’s angry.
- Mill: I think so.
Panel16:
- Teacher is angry to the max
- Teacher throw all students’ book on the second roll of students’ table. And shout
“kindergarten students do works better than all of you”
- Mill: Why she did that? How old is she?
- Ting: ….
- Students are in silent.

- Mill come back home.
- Mom: How was your school today? Dad also there
- Mill: it’s fine. Actually it’s not
- Mom: what happen?
- Mill: Do you remember my home room teacher?
Mom: Why?
- Mill: She throw books over students’ head. They nearly hit my friend‘s head.
- Mom: Oh no. แลว้ ก็ทาํ หน้าเเบบเอามือปิ ดปาก(ตกใจ)
- Mill: I was angry and scare a little bit. She should control her angry in front of students.
- Mom: That’s right. It will be better tomorrow. เเลว้ เเมก ่ เ็ อามือลูบหัวปลอบๆ
Panel18:
- Two week before semester 2 ended.
- Mill said to Ting: Exam is coming.
- Ting: TAT.
- Teacher: I have a good news today. Mill, Ting, Ling, Fah come out here.
- Mill: Why does she called us?
- Ting: IDK
- Teacher: Why your braid are so loose?
- Students: ….. (No one answer)
- Teacher: Do you hear me? I’m asking.
- Teacher: Ok bring your phone here. I will called your parents. I’m gonna ask them to cut
your hair out so you will not need to braid your hair any more.
- Mill: Ting. Does she’s going to cut our hair. All parts of my body, I love my hair the most.

- Ting: Mill. Stop crying. If you cry, she will be happy.
- Teacher called my mom and walk away.
Panel19:
- Teacher: I will give you a chance. Go braid your hair to be tight and neat. Right now!!
- Everyone come back with a tight hair braid.
- Mill said to Ting: I don’t want to see her anymore.
- Ting: ปลอบๆ ตบไหล่
Panel20:
- Launch time. Mill and Ting come back with messy hair.
- Teacher saw us. Ting and Mill follow me.
- Teacher: Why your hair are so messy? Bring your phone here I will call your parents
again.
- Mill: (After she called Ting’s mother. I had got a plan. I think that my mom will say only
I’m sorry and sorry. So, I decide to called my dad.) It’s such a great plan.
- Mill press a calling button
- Teacher: Hello. I’m mill’s teacher. And she walked away.
- So, I didn’t hear what they are talking about.
- Ting: Omg! She’s crying.
- Mill: What!!!
- After she came back, she was so angry at me. She shout at me and said to me that don’t
you think your are smart and you can break the rule. I tell you. You won’t be success in
the future.
- Mill is crying + run away.
- Mill: Why she underestimated me? Am I gonna be as she said?
Panel21:
- Mill came back home and cry again.
- Mill: what does you told her, dad? Why she is so angry at me?
- Dad: I told her that my daughter is not a bitch. I sent my daughter to school to study not
follow all of these stupid rules that you created. She braid by herself because no one in
this house can do it. I was so angry so I shout at her a little bit. I also told her that if you
won’t stop, I will told the principle.
- Mill. Ok. I got it. I see why she was really angry today.
- Mill told mom: Mom. That teacher told me that I won’t be a success person in the future.
- Mom: Oh my love. You won’t be like that for sure even you are a very naughty and
chubby girl.
- Mill: Mom! I’m not fattt!!!
- Mill: But momm, I don’t want to go to school any more. Can I quit?
- Mom: If you quit, where would you go?
- Mill: I want to go study abroad in Singapore with Pound(my another cousin).
- Mom: Can you just stand for another week? It’s last week of grade 8. After you
graduated from grade 9, I will let you change school.
- Mill: Ok.
Panel22:
- I’ve been promised to myself that I will not be like what the teacher told me. I’m a fighter.
I will success in the future and after that I will come back to tell her.
- Before I graduated from grade 9, I decide to go to Triumudom school, which is a top high
school in Thailand. However, I failed the entrance exam because I didn’t prepare for it.
Panel23:
- After that for two week => Mill: It’s not my last chance. I will get into a good university. I
will study harder and prepare for it. This time, I will get it.
- I change the school in grade 10. I used to study in a Thai program, but I will study in an
international program this year. It’s difficult for me at the first semester. So, I try to listen

- I’m accepted to school of engineering in Chula University.
- Ended of my diary.
