Montu: What is a difference between Amsa and Avastha?

Amsa is widely used term and it can be referred to all Vargas (Divisional Charts). Jataka Tattwa
provide information about the meaning. Amsa means part and refers usually to Navamsa
Chakra which shows bhagya. Deeptadi Avastha (like Ucchavastha or Neechavastha) however
can be checked in all Vargas and shows level of richness (status, money, popularity) & level of
ideals. Other Avasthas show state associated with a Yoga which will be activated in particular
Dasa (period).

What does a Saturn and Rahu conjunction in the 9th(scorpio) in D9 chart indicate?
What would the same yuti show if it was in the 8th(scorpio) instead?

We consider planets in the trines of Navamsha is a blessings.Ok ,but a malefic planet
like Saturn (Mars-Dashing nature,martial arts ;Rahu-Deep research;Ketu :Maths or
Spiritual) in the trine ; what does it indicate .Also if Saturn is neecha or bakri or tungi.

Dear Rajal-ji,
Is there any exception to the dictum that malefics in a malefic sign in the D9 trines
indicate use of heavy machinery?
Also does Venus in Pieces in D9 lagna always indicate dark complexion? What if Mars
and Moon have rashi drishti on the same from Virgo? Would Venus parivarthana with
Jupiter change the scenario?
Would rashi dristhi’s from Moon in Aquarius and Saturn and Rahu in Scorpio to D9 lagna
indicate medium complexion??

anyway connected to venus or 7th lord.

I am currently running shani-shani-shukra and also facing a possible separation because
of work related issue.shani is in 2nd house in taurus in D-1 and in 7th house in
parivatana with shukra in D-9–does this indicate a possible separation from spouse and
my child in the current period? Please tell me if possible.

Dear Members,
Rupa
Its true statement only in very general meaning. Shani gives suffering/fear
/emotional instability in love when yuti Shukra, but to know details you must
analyze further as seperation is only one option from the list.

Moon is weak in D9 and that can be the culprit for the seperation, but Shani
doesnt have the role for breakage in this chart.

If there is stronger graha in 10,11,12 then this can overcome the tendency for
attitude in work. Check also Navamsa Chandra for complexion, details for planets
are in sastras like Bhps.

What is the difference between eight and ninth in D9?

Difference between 9th and 8th in D9:
9th house shows what they are good at but after having studied and worked at it.
Planets in 6,8 or 12 will often give opposite results of the indications of the planets in
trines in D9.
I have Rahu and Saturn in Scorpio in D9 with either Pieces or Aries lagna. If its in the
9th from Pieces then Rahu will show ability to acquire skills for research, development
& planning.I have deep interest in higher philosophy and spirituality…does that show
that i am of Pieces lagna….eventhough Rahu is in a Martian sign?? And if Rahu is in the
8th complete ignorance/aversion in these matters??? Will Saturn in the 9th show i’m
shy? I am shy…i have never been “on stage” on my own… atleast not willingly!But i am
not a muscular(Saturn) person.
Also with Pieces lagna i have exhalted retrogade Venus in the 1st….but in parivarthana
with Jupiter in Taurus. Will that still make me have inborn
Venusian(artistic,detailed,romantic) or Jupiterean(literature) talents? Will it show nice
facial features?
Will Venus in the 12th in D9 make a person unattractive or perhaps speak harshly?
Venus in the 12th as karaka for marriage in the D-9 will make a person not interested in
marriage.Will parivarthana with Jupiter in the 2nd change the scenario? I have always
loved studying Science(Jupiter is with Ketu) and English literature but i never had a
chance to pursue them. I dislike Maths but i did alright in all subjects and infact
pursued Accounting qualifications because it cost the least.
I have nice facial features and very soft palms with long fingers but no artistic skills and
also i have no aversion to marriage. Infact i’d love to share my life with a soulmate. I
look much,much younger than my actual age….is that a trait shared by all Gemini
ascendants(D1)? I am considered fair as an Indian but actually i will classify myself as

medium complexioned as there are fairer Indians. I speak in a soft voice and am quite
polite. I am very gentle with kids.If i do possess Venus/Jupiter traits, could be more
due to a dwiguru yoga in the 12th from Sun in D1 chart
I have no Martian traits in me i.e.martial art skills. I hate having to tell people what to
do. But i’ve always been very intrested in Tai chi or Yoga but never got the
opportunity to learn it.My lagnesh in D1 is in Scorpio and in parivarthana with Mars.
Also i do have a quick temper but that could be due to my Chandra mangala yoga in my
D1. I’ve been told by many i have good writing skills but there is no Mercury influence
in trines from Pieces or Aries….perhaps it is only “maya” …others’ perception and not
real talent.
Rafal-ji…..will you please, please guide me in this difficult but intriguing process of D-9
rectification?

Dear Priya,
Mesha and Meena are quite different and shows different approach towards
dharma and relationships. Study the Rasis and judge accordingly. If its Mesha seek
for ailments in Ra/Sa dasas [vimshottari].

If you have no artistic skills or soul then how can Venus be in Lagna, were you
interested in poetry / writing?

also why is moon involved in separation,if it is so? neecha chandra usually give a weak
mind and emotional instability and besides its not the eighth lord in D-9.

Chandra is debilitated in D9 as 2L from Upapada. Maybe you are on 2nd UL?

There is some change of place in Shani period due to placement in D-4, as Shani
aspects the 2nd from Upapada this can cause some problems in married life.
Prashna shows some kind of seperation from spouse..so its strong chance you will
be seperated for some time due to change of place.

Thank You, but i still think i am on first UL because it has been an absolute
rollercoaster ride,emotional turmoil and depression at times and has been difficult to
keep it together no matter how hard i try.also an important thing is my in-laws and my
mother have been against this relationship from day 1.it was a marriage by choice.it
sort of fits in with the first UL– i can be wrong.

Prashna shows it and it definitely looks like its heading in that direction.if it happens
its going to be atleast for 2 yrs.but i am wondering that since shani is aspecting the 4th
house (2nd to 1st UL)is it a temporary or a permanent thing?

Dear Rafal-ji,
Yes i love writing and i used to write poems for my school magazine when i was in high
school.I use to come up with very good essays too. I love also to read literary classics.I
lost touch with these parts of myself when Rahu dasa came …i became too busy with
work, night classes and my mother’s bad health and other troubles at home. Will not
Venus parivartana with Jupiter(yuti Ketu) in Taurus make a difference? I love learning
to play musical instruments but did not get opportunities to pursue. But then again,
given the chance, i would love to learn a lot of things..so perhaps its not too relevant.
Rafal-ji do tell…will Aries D9 lagna show a person who wants to be the one that leads in
a relationship. I prefer to be lead and guided by my partner….if i love someone i tend
to become very trusting and hence a follower. Off course i do still maintain my stand
when its regarding my highest principles in life. I like my partner to be spiritual ,wise,
mature, loyal and dependable with a strong character….someone i can respect.
Unfortunately…outward appearance i.e good looks have also been very important to
me. Either that or i just happen to be fond of guys who “happen” to be good looking
also. I don’t like confrontations and i like comfort in all things even in my
relationships…with everyone.I don’t like people and situations that make me feel
uncomfortable.
As for ailments in my Rahu dasa i did not suffer any serious illness but it was a very
stressful, tiring period. During Saturn antara dasa i got a lot of things “done” and my
earnings were okay but i had facial skin problems and short spell(3 weeks)of severe
insomnia towards the end of it. I had “chicken-pox” during Rahu/Mercury period. I lost
a LOT of weight during Rahu/moon period….was anaemic too.
If i put down my D9 lagna as Mesha what would Mercury in the 10th and Moon in the

11th signify? What about AK Mars in the 6th with Sun? What would an exhalted Venus in
the 12th imply? Also if you could drop some clues regarding its parivarthana with
Jupiter in the 2nd.

I have a doubt about the neecha banga raja yoga example If Mars in rasi is in uccha but
neecha in navamsa but chandra in navamsa its uchha , to check the strength of mars
should we consider moon’s uchha position here? Thanks

shows about the person?what the planet in 7th house in D9 shows and if 7th house is
empty in navamsa and main chart both what it means? can we predict about person’s
merried life through navmsa?

What is the difference between planets in trines from navamsa lagna and triens from
karakamsa.

Under what conditions will the abilities of the planets in trines to karakamsa manifest
in a persons life?

Also what would the kendras like 4th, and 10th in navamsa indicate?

And generally the lagna of navamsa denotes the conditions of birth? Or the financial
postion of family during birth?
Like whats the difference between meena navamsa and kumbha navamsa lagna… I was
trying to rectify my own chart so wanted to udnerstand the nature of these two
navamsas..

spouse in navamsa sign of first house or sign of seventh house?
