Genetically-defined human cell lines

for use in biomarker discovery, assay validation, and as clinical reference standards

Introducing X-MAN - A model cancer patient

Using GENESIS™, a proprietary human-genome editing platform, HDx is able to recapitulate
patient genetics within a contextually-relevant human cell line. X-MAN human isogenic
disease models have been likened to “patients-in-a-test-tube” and are being used by
academic, biotechnology and pharmaceutical customers to identify novel biomarkers and
disease signatures at the transcriptomic, proteomic and metabalomic level that can be used
to identify which patients might respond best to putative therapeutic agents.
Furthermore, by introducing specific genetic alterations into contextually-relevant cell lines,
HDx is able to supply gold-standard genomic reference materials to CLIA labs for validation,
standardization and quality control of existing companion diagnostic regimens.
GENESIS is a virally-mediated homologous recombination technology that is orders of
magnitude more efficient in performing gene targeting in somatic human cell types over
previous plasmid based technology. Genesis is used to create X-MAN™ (gene-X, Mutant
And Normal) human cell lines by knock-in, or knock-out of specific mutations (including mutant and normal
SNP’s) at the endogenous level. isogenic human cell lines

GENESIS is unique in its ability to engender both knock-out and knock-in mutations at any
endogenous locus, in any human cell line. This enables the precise modelling of genetic
abnormalities at the same frequency as occurs in a real patient’s tumours, meaning that X-MAN
