ANALITICAL EXPOSITION

No rank in the school

School is a place where we gain education. We can study, we
meet people, we make friend and we interact to others. School is a
place to organize and socialize also. It is second place besides home.
The point is we get everything from school .
Students recieve study report in the end of semester. Common
people usually call it as “raport”. Raport includes student’s
achievement oone semester that is written in numeral. It is something
like what make student worried about. At the same time, for parents
,the result reperensents how their children are successfull in studying
or not. What student have done and gotten from school for a semester
is concluded in a paper.
The education system nowadays use raport as an evaluation for
learning process that happen in the school. It is considerably
description about how far student has achieved. Students can be
categorized to be smart if they get good scores. It means they
complete their study well, they understand the materies that they
already get from the class. However, student who doesn’t get good
scores, it is regarded there is something wrong with them in studying.
Yet in the reality, our education that is oriented by result only. It
makes the purpose why school provide raport is changed. Parents
believe that the higher score their student achieve then the higher rank
will be. Whereas,the most crucial thing in education is not only result
but also the process while they do learning. Rank can motivate
students to do better indeed. But, rank can discriminate good student
and the bad. It is ironic. In this discussion, i would like to give my
reasons why school doesn’t need rank system.
Firstly, student will get mental as loser, not a winner.
Competition that continue all the time in the school finally will
differentiate students. Student who has standard ability or get the
worst rank sometimes feel loser. Besides, the rank system can create
social on jealously among student. In one population, it will make
tendency to make friend with whom. Peer pressure that the academic
is not goog will make them ruined and feeling bad. Meanwhile, their
parents maybe scold and compare their children to other. School has
responsibility to educate the student, not for smart student only, but
also all students. Student does’nt need rank because it gives a stigma
and affect psychologically the student that gain bad rank. Teacher
should be a role model for student, internalize norms , values,
reinforce good character.
Secondly, students will do anything to be the winner no matter
the way is fair or not. Raport can not determine and assess the success
of learning process. Let me give you an example. Parents usually just
pay attention with the mark of their children. They do not know how
their children get and complete it. Whereas, it is not imposssible that
they are cheating in the class. Sometimes, there is student who want
to make parent proud of. So , he want to get good rank. But, because
of competition that occur in the class is tough and so many smart
students are there. The student could not exceed the passing grade.
The last option that come on his mind is cheating. We review the
education system in indonesia which priority the result rather than the
process, we can not blame if cheating is everywhere. Student is
required to get high scores to pass the exam. It has been mind set for
student to answer all the questions with the best. It can be a burden i
think for students. How honesty can go on if the system itself push
them to do these.
Thirdly, student has no same ability, not all student are good in
academic. In reality, there are many people who success in career
eventhough they are standard or not really good in the class.
Moreover, sometimes student who are not brilliant in academic but
they have the other ability in non academic for instances talent. And ,
it is something that we should appreciate too except ranking. We
could not underestimate people who bad in rank who knows they have
unbelieveable ability, more special than they are who get best rank.
So, rank system can make unhonesty amongst student because of
values competition.
From the reasons above we can conclude tha ranking must be
deleted from education system in Indonesia, our developing country.

Ir. Soekarno (born in Blitar, East Java, June 6, 1901 - died in Jakarta, June 21, 1970 at age 69
years) is Indonesia's first president who served two terms from 1945 to 1966. He played an
important role for the liberation of Indonesia from Dutch colonialism. He is a digger Pancasila. He
was proclaimed Indonesian independence (along with Mohammad Hatta) which occurred on August
17, 1945.

Sukarno signed the Warrant March 11, 1966 Supersemar controversial, in which - according to the
released version of Army Headquarters - Lt. Gen. Suharto assigned to secure and maintain state
security and the institution of the presidency. Supersemar basis Lieutenant General Suharto to
dissolve the Communist Party of Indonesia (PKI) and replace the members who sit in parliament.
After the answer denied liability Provisional People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) in the fourth
general assembly in 1967, President Sukarno removed from office as president in the MPRS Special
Session of the same year and raised Suharto as acting President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Background and education

Sukarno was born with the name Kusno Sosrodihardjo. His father named Raden Soekemi
Sosrodihardjo, a teacher in Surabaya, Java. His mother was Ida Ayu Nyoman Rai comes from
Buleleng, Bali

As a young child living with his grandfather Sukarno in Tulungagung, East Java. At the age of 14
years, a friend of his father who called Tjokroaminoto Sukarno invited to stay in Surabaya and
schooled to Hoogere Burger School (HBS) in there with a Koran in the Tjokroaminoto. At Surabaya,
Sukarno many met with the SI leaders, the organization led Tjokroaminoto time. Sukarno then
joined the organization Jong Java (Java Youth).

Finished H.B.S. 1920, Sukarno continued to Technische Hoge School (now ITB) in Bandung, and
graduated in 1925. While in Bandung, Sukarno interact with Tjipto Mangunkusumo and Dr. Douwes
Dekker, who was then leader of the National organization Indische Partij.

ADBI-World Economy Workshop on Globalization and the


Environment
Asian Development Bank Institute, Tokyo, Japan
26-27 September 2017
The Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), in cooperation with World Economy,
invites submissions of unpublished papers looking at Globalization and the
Environment in Asia. Both theoretical and empirical research papers with policy
orientations are welcome provided that findings, conclusions, and policy
recommendations are based on solid evidence and analysis. Manuscripts can focus
on Asia as a whole, a group of countries, or individual economies.

Submission of papers dealing with but NOT limited to the following topics are
welcome:

 Trade, resources, and the environment


 International investment and the environment
 International migration and the environment
 Policy designs and reforms on trade and the environment in Asian economies

ADBI will cover registration, flight, and hotel costs, plus a small lump-sum payment
for one presenter of every accepted paper, who must be a citizen of ADB member
countries. Selected papers from the workshop will be considered for publication in
the special issue of World Economy or an edited book volume.

 Decisions by academic committee on submissions: 31 August 2017
