ACTIVITY 1

Ground INSTRUCTIONS DIAGRAM


Fielding
1. The wicket keeper rolls ball
Inner ring
out in front of the wicket as
racing
the fielder moves from the
cone towards the ball.
2. The fielder picks the ball and
sends it back into the wickets
with an underarm throw.
3. Each student has 6 turns
then the wicket keeper
swaps out.
Variation
• Wicket keeper can bounce
ball out if students are strong
fielders.
• Introduce competition
within groups: point
scored for each time ball
hits wickets. Each person
gets 6 turns and the
highest score wins.
• Final competition versing
other groups. First group to
hit wickets 10 times wins
the game. Instruct
students to yell out and
cheer when they achieve
this.
LEST
L = Groups of 4, One student acts as wicket keeper, Other three
are fielders
E = 2 balls (x8), 2 cones (x8), 1 batting tee (used as cone) (x8), set
of wicket (x8), can use cricket gloves if available (x8)
S = Individual group in line, Class formation in a circle, Wickets and
last cone 15 metres apart, Approximately 8 groups.
T = No longer than 10mins
ACTIVITY 2
High-ball INSTRUCTIONS DIAGRAM
Fielding
1. Two teams stand either side
Bulldog
of a centre line – neither
Cricket
team is allowed to cross this
line.
2. One player starts with the
ball and launches it as high
as they can into the other
teams zone.
3. If the ball is caught, then
the thrower joins the
opposite team.
Variations
• Catch with two hands, or
with only the left or the right
hand.
• One hand one bounce.

L = 4 groups of 4, 2 games set up
E = x1 ball/game (x2), x2 cones/game (x4)
S = 10mx25m (x2)
T = No longer than 15mins.
ACTIVITY 3
INSTRUCTIONS DIAGRAM
1. In groups of 4, players face
each other with a set of
stumps between each
group.
2. One player starts with the
ball and throws to hit the
stumps. They then follow their
throw and join the other line.
3. Each tie the stumps are hit
that’s one point to that
particular player.
4. They player with the most
points at the end of the drill is
the winner (10mins).
