Personal Statement

I Sana Amin am writing to express my great interest in applying for the Student Exchange
Scholarship and becoming a student at abc University at UK. It will be an honor for me to
study for a semester or two at University of abc, benefitting from highly professional
academic staff, resources, and the multinational environment.

I am currently a student of BS-English and I am thoroughly enjoying the experience. Everyone

has something that stirs their passion. Something that sparks an interest so deep-seated that
to not pursue it would be unthinkable. Some find theirs in numbers, others in athletics;
perhaps one may find a love for science, or a penchant for design. I found my passion and
fulfillment in English literature and linguistics. The intricacies of language itself and a writer’s
ability to create powerful emotions in individual have long been enthralled me, and I am
amazed at how the words of one can influence a thousand.

This scholarship is an opportunity for me to learn English culture and gain something new. I
have been interested in learning about the structure of the English language, how it is used,
and about different text and novels in the literary world since I was in grade X. I have always
worked to improve my grasp of linguistics.

I have good communication skill, good reading and writing skills. I am very competent,
punctual, creative and hardworking. I do not sit calm until I complete the task assigned to me.
My best skill is time management . I am a multitasker due to which I can manage to do two to
three tasks at a time with complete concentration. And can also manage to complete a task
within the given time.

I spend my spare time in reading novels and watching English movies especially animated
movies. Currently, I have start working on writing a short story which is based on a true
tragedy. I also like reading English poetry. I also enjoy using computer, and would consider
myself computer literate. I can competently use MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

I believe that I am legible for this scholarship because of my discipline and skills and I believe
that with good facilities and resources I would be able to gain knowledge and pursue best
grades by end of semester.
