Good (morning/afternoon). I'm sure you are all well aware why I'm here speaking to you
today, but it's time I tell you all why I'm standing here. I stand here solely because this is what I
love to do. I'm running for secretary and treasurer, and it's not because I don't find the other posi-
tions important, but it is because this is what I'm good at. I was secretary of my previous school,
and it was honestly one of the most amazing and productive experiences I have ever been apart
of.
When you are apart of a student council, or ASB, or anything using leadership, you always
bring responsibility onto yourself; but none of that matters. What you get back from being apart
of something so productive and involved, you not only learn that leadership is not just a trait, but
it is an ever-going process of growth and experience. I got a feel of what that was like last year,
and I gave back to my friends and my school by being apart of it. You all have welcomed me with
open arms and wide smiles and awesome memories, and I want to give back to you.
Being your secretary and your treasurer would be an amazing experience. I'm willing to
bring organization and creativity. I'm excited to contribute my knowledge and my ideas. I am
ready to speak loud and have spirit and represent you and myself. I am prepared to keep account-
ing of whatever is needed and putting everything in order that needs to be organized. It's all
apart of the job, of the experience. It's all apart of the job I want to do for you.
I wish good luck to everyone running to be a class officer. I give my prayers to those that
will be leading the ninth grade, and I really hope I can be one of those who you all rely on. God
has a plan for everyone, and I hope mine is to be a leader, and to be someone my friends can
trust. There is always room to grow in faith and leadership and knowledge, and I am hoping that
this year, I can do that as your class secretary and treasurer. Thank you for letting my speak to
