Subject: Company Computer System Failure

Over the past month the company has been experiencing repeated difficulties with the computer
system. These shutdowns have been no doubt frustrating, and have resulted in lost work and time
across the board. It has however come to our attention that several employees have become so
incensed as a result of this that they damaged company property.

Technological difficulties, however unfortunate, are inherent to working with computers and can be
avoided. Please remember to regularly save work and back up all important documents to minimize the
problems that any further computer shutdowns may cause. In this same vein, shutting down all
computers at the end of every work day will also diminish the risk of any future technological issues.

We would also like to remind all employees that technological difficulties, no matter how frustrating, are
never an excuse for unprofessional conduct. If you feel yourself getting angry in the future, we
encourage you to take a break. Take a deep breath, walk away from the computer, and report the
problem to IT. With this is mind, any future outbursts in the workplace will result in a penalty at the
discretion of management.

Please remember to make use of our IT resources, and thank you for the great work in spite of this
obstacle.

Subject: Increased Health Insurance Costs

It has long been a point of pride here at Excellent Power to provide the best benefits package we are
able to too our employees, Including a comprehensive and affordable health insurance plan.
Unfortunately, in the face of increasing healthcare costs in our area, the level of coverage provided by
our current plan is no longer viable under the current premiums. In this face of this new health care
environment, there will be an increase in health insurance charges for the coming benefits year
beginning in July.

Up until this point, the company has been able to continue to pay for the increased cost without passing
on the expenses to the employee. The continual increase in the cost of health insurance however, have
sadly rendered this unsustainable. With this in mind we have recognized the necessity to follow industry
example and ask you to supplement the company’s cost with a monthly payroll deduction of $50. In
addition to this, the previous copayments of $10 for doctor visits and $6 for all prescriptions, will be
increased to $15 and $10 respectively. In addition to this, further charges may apply for non-generic
prescription drugs.

While we recognize that increased costs are never welcome, we made the decision to continue with the
same extensive health coverage provided in the past rather than cut back in an effort to allay costs.
Taking into account the overwhelming past employee support for the coverage levels of our current
plan, we consider it more important to maintain coverage than to try and resist the current cost
increases.

Thank you for your continued contributions as valued members of the company. If you have any further
questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me via email.
