"Lecture Plan": A New Sample of Promoting Classroom Teaching Reform in Xuzhou City

Mr. Zhenguo He, Xuzhou Education and Teaching Research Institute

2. Overview of basic education in Xuzhou

Xuzhou has a rich history and culture. It is one of the famous historical and cultural cities in China. It is the
birthplace of the culture of the Han Dynasty and Jiuzhou in China. It has a tradition of emphasizing
education. Its educational soil is excellent and its educational development potential is huge. It is one of
the few prefecture-level cities with relatively perfect educational system in China. There are 2138 basic
education schools in the city, with 1.64 million students, accounting for nearly one sixth of Jiangsu's
education body , ranking first in thirteen major cities in the province. With the continuous improvement of
the framework of Education City and the increasingly prominent effect of education agglomeration and
development, it has become the science and education highland and human resources development
center of Huaihai Economic Zone.

3. Functions of Teaching and Research Department

Implementing the fundamental task of "building morality and cultivating people" put forward by the Party
Central Committee, and the comprehensive deployment and planning of future education in the Outline of
the National Medium-and Long-term Education Reform and Development Plan (2010-2020) and the
Outline of Jiangsu Province's Medium-and Long-term Education Reform and Development Plan, and
carrying out in-depth and targeted education in accordance with the strategic needs of the state, provinces
and municipalities, and the implementation of educational policies and guidelines. Practical research
makes basic judgments on the future development of regional schools and teachers, classroom teaching
reform and subject teaching dynamics, and provides professional support and guidance services for local
education and teaching.

4. FIRMNESS STEADFASTNESS PERSISTENCE

5. Jiangsu Provincial Prize for Teaching Achievements

6. 6. In 2018, China Education Daily and Jiangsu Education Daily published a series of articles to promote
Xuzhou Regional Curriculum Reform Action - "Learning and Lecturing Plan".

7. Provincial compulsory education quality monitoring data continue to improve

Teaching methods
Course Leadership
Recognition of schools
Teacher-Student relationship
High level competence of students

Firstly it surpassed the provincial average, out from an all-time low position, towards an average position
and even above average.

8. According to the survey data of Jiangsu compulsory education students'academic quality monitoring,
Xuzhou teachers' classroom teaching methods have changed, and the relationship between teachers and
students has continued to improve. The proportion of the third-grade students who have a good
evaluation of teachers'teaching methods has increased by 11.2% and that of the eighth-grade students by
1.1%, which is higher than the provincial average.

9. Data reflect: the proportion of students with strong self-confidence in learning is higher in 2016 than in
2014.
The proportion of students with strong internal learning motivation increased by 10.2% in third grade and
4.6% in eighth grade.
Continuous improvement.

10. Classroom Teaching Status Before the Implementation of Lecture Plan

120,000 lessons a day

Problem
Teacher have full schedules
Students ' passive learning
The classroom atmosphere is dull
Low teaching efficiency

11. The Practical Basis put forward by the Learning and Lecture Plan
(1. Improve the pertinence of implementation based on solving problems
(2. 2. Improve the relationship between teachers and students, fully mobilize the enthusiasm of learning
and teaching
(3. 3. Based on theoretical guidance, penetrate theoretical learning, and focus on improving teaching
ability and curriculum reform consciousness.
(4. 4. Handling the relationship between inheritance and innovation based on experience summary
(5. 5. Emphasizing the application of information technology to solve problems based on informatization
(6. 6. Emphasizing on effectiveness-on-the-spot detection and quality monitoring )

12. The first is based on solving problems and improving the relevance of the Implementation plan

There are many phenomena in classroom teaching, such as "full-room teaching, teaching from textbook,
students'passive learning, dull classroom atmosphere, and inefficient teaching".

We should improve the relevance of implementation, do a good job of "research on learning conditions"
and teach students in accordance with their aptitude.

13. Second, is based on improving the method, improving the relationship between teachers and
students, and fully mobilizing the enthusiasm of learning and teaching.

From form to content, there are three levels and stages in the process of promoting, namely, overcoming
the "full-room teaching" and teaching from text book - eliminating formalism - improving teachers' ability
to design teaching, control the classroom and guide learning.

The way of teaching is how to teach and learn, which is essentially the relationship between teachers and
students. Democracy, equality and harmony between teachers and students is an important prerequisite
for improving the quality of teaching. We should focus on liberating the productive forces of teaching and
mobilizing the enthusiasm of teaching and learning.

14. The General Relationship between Eighth Grade Students and Teachers
Fairness, Respect and Protection of Diversity
Teacher-student relationship is the barometer of high-quality education
15. Radar Analysis Map of Indicators in Xuzhou City

16. Third is based on theoretical guidance. through theoretical learning, we should focus on improving
teaching ability and curriculum reform consciousness.

To improve the level of teachers'educational theory, it is essential to improve teachers' teaching quality
and ultimately to improve students'learning ability.

Expected three achievements of the "lecture plan": one is the improvement of students'learning ability and
teaching quality; the other is the improvement of teachers' teaching quality and the change of their mental
state; and the third is the innovation of teaching management methods.

17. Four is based on experience summary, we should deal with the relationship between inheritance and
innovation.

We should be good at discovering and summarizing the experience created by grass-roots and front-line
teachers, respecting and advocating the innovation of teaching management and teaching methods.

Effective experiences such as "Five Serious of Teaching" and "Lecture and Practice Engineering" should be
further promoted and popularized.

18. The Fifth is based on information technology. We should pay attention to the application of
information technology to solve problems

Future teaching work should focus on the deep integration of information technology and teaching,
focusing on the use of information technology to solve problems that we are limited to ability to solve.

Teachers should understand the learning situation, encourage students to learn independently, carry out
self-evaluation, and realize interactive, communicative and other ubiquitous forms of learning.

19. Sixth is Based on Effectiveness - Paying Attention to On-the-spot Detection and Quality Monitoring
We should strengthen the means of monitoring the quality of classroom teaching, emphasize classroom
detection and feedback correction, follow the learning rules, and achieve clear accountability for every
lesson, week, and month.

20. 3 Interpretation of The Learning and Lecture Plan

21. The Connotation of The Learning and Lecture Plan

The Learning and Lecturing Plan is an action plan to promote the transformation of teaching methods. It is
guided by the implementation of "learning and lecturing methods". It aims at changing the teaching and
teaching methods and improving the classroom teaching mode. It takes the implementation of
students'learning status as the core, takes "administrative promotion, comprehensive promotion and
scientific promotion" as the action strategy, and promotes the application of "learning and lecturing
methods" throughout the city. Improve the effectiveness of classroom teaching and achieve new
breakthroughs in classroom teaching quality. "Learning and lecturing mode" is a classroom teaching mode
which takes students'autonomous learning as the main learning mode, cooperative learning as the main
teaching organizational form, and "learning in" and "speaking out" as the orientation of students' learning
mode and the basic requirements of achieving learning objectives.
22 "Learning in" refers to mobilizing the enthusiasm of learning through self-learning, cooperative
learning, questioning and other learning methods, emphasizing the results of "learning in"; "speaking out"
refers to helping peers solve problems and solve problems through "doing, speaking, practicing and
teaching" with the knowledge they have learned, emphasizing the process of "speaking out" and "teaching
others". Achieve the results of reviewing, strengthening the knowledge learned and developing their own
comprehensive quality. From the perspective of teaching process, "learning in" is the basis of "speaking
out", and "speaking out" is the motivation and result of "learning in".

34. 4 Evaluation points

(1) Investigation and Research of Learning Conditions and "Teaching by Learning"

(2) Student's Learning Emotion

(3) Students'Participation in Learning

(4) Achievement of Teaching Objectives

35. . Operational Requirements of Lecture Plan

Instructional design: design the problems, learning procedures and links discussed in class on the basis of
fully mastering the learning situation; design the learning tasks that meet the students'knowledge base
and provide learning resources with difficulty, gradient and situational conditions; and make clear the
objectives, contents, procedures, methods and evaluation of autonomous learning. Confirmed guidance,
according to the basis of learning, puts forward different levels of learning requirements for the
classification of students; Teachers should teach according to the curriculum objectives and improve
learning conditions, in-depth processing of textbook and creative use of textbooks.

36. Operational Requirements of Lecture Plan

Teaching links. The basic links of classroom teaching are: self-learning first, group discussion,
communication and display, questioning and expansion, testing and feedback, summary and reflection.
The basic link is not a fixed process or mode. Teachers can form the teaching process independently
according to different academic periods, disciplines and types of courses.

37.
The "Five Learning" of Students' Behavior:
Students' Requirements Change passive learners into active learners.
Change the Receiver of Knowledge into the Explorer of Knowledge
This way, People not only learn, but also learn and enjoy themselves.
Learning, really can really be achieved using the "learn in" and "speak out" strategy.

Corresponding to the above-mentioned teaching links, students' autonomous learning as a whole is

embodied in the learning requirements of "five learning", namely "
Independent Learning
Mutual learning
Learning by Inquiry
Teaching by Learning
enlightened learning

38. The Five Steps of Teachers'Behavior:

Teachers should change the status of being"masters" of the classroom into being instructors, organizers,
assistants and motivators of learning activities. Teachers should be "behind the students", serving as
participants. they must step down from the platform purposefully and systematically, and "participate"
more in group learning and stay near the students' desks.

39. Five Steps of Teachers 'Behavior:

In order to emphasize the concepts of "student advancement and teacher withdrawal" and "learning
advancement and teaching withdrawal" in the transformation of teaching methods, we should achieve
"concession", "slow step", "step back", "stop step" and "step back".

40. Implementing Principle of "Learning and Lecturing Method"

(1) the principle of mastering learning conditions
(2) The principle of autonomous learning
(3) Principles of cooperative Learning
(4) Principles of "Teaching" and Learning by Students
(5) The principle of classroom consolidation
(6) Principles of Guided-Learning Law

41...
(1) the principle of mastering learning conditions
We should make efforts to innovate the methods of investigation and research, enhance the relevance and
foresight of teaching, and strengthen the planning and design of the teachers-students classroom
activities.

42... (2) The principle of autonomous learning

We should make great efforts to promote the deep integration of information technology and teaching. By
developing "learning resource packages" such as micro-courses and learning plans, and by means of
"flipping classroom" and other teaching methods, we can create conditions for students to study
extensively, stimulate students'enthusiasm for "learning in", promote students' self-learning, and realize
the organic integration of learning inside and outside class.

43.. (3) Principles of cooperative Learning

Efforts should be made to implement individual tutoring and group cooperative learning in classroom
teaching. In-depth research is carried out on such issues as grouping methods, division of labor within
groups, discussion procedures and methods, presentation of research results, intra-group incentives and
inter-group competitions, so as to form a group cooperative teaching mode like that of our school.
44. (4) Principles of "Teaching" and Learning by Students

We should focus on learning and practicing the educational thought of "integration of teaching and doing"
and the theory of "learning pyramid", strengthen the mobilization of students'learning enthusiasm in
classroom teaching, encourage and support students to "speak out" and "teach others" in class, in groups,
in front of the blackboard and on the whiteboard, so as to promote students' in-depth learning.

45.
(5) The principle of classroom consolidation
By using the "forgetting curve" and "memory rule", we should strengthen the training of memory methods
in class, review them in time, strengthen them constantly, and test the diagnostic learning effect in class.

46 (6) Principles of Guided-Learning Law

Focus on the guidance of learning strategies and learning methods, according to the characteristics of
different sections and disciplines, systematically guide students to master scientific learning methods, pay
attention to the cultivation of learning habits, and form students'personalized and more stable behavior
patterns and learning styles.
