● When ecstasy is in your body, you release more amounts of serotonin
● Lots of serotonin means euphoria and lack of serotonin is depression

“Centennial Medical Group.” Centennial Medical,

www.centennialmedical.com/why-your-body-needs-rest-when-youre-sick/.

● Through work, school, keeping a social life are things we maintain regularly
● “Having a busy schedule can lead to stress, and without winding down, your body
will show for it.”
● You can eventually get a cough, stuffy or runny nose, fever, and feel fatigue in
your body
● By having these symptoms, your body is telling you that you are working too
much to the point your body cannot handle and you need to rest
● “While your life may be overwhelmed due to your workload, you may feel like
there’s no real time for you to be sick.”
● Instead of taking a day to rest and calm your body down, you continue to do your
daily routine, although you are feeling too tired to do anything
● Working yourself too hard can cause your body to get worse, become more sick,
and weaken your immune system
● By taking medicine and drinking lots of fluid, you can feel better when you do
end up getting sick
● But your body actually needs bedrest out of all things
● “Ignoring your body’s need for sleep can be the root cause of your sickness.”
● Your immune system will suffer the less sleep you get
● “Studies have shown that those who get less than 6 hours of sleep are more likely
to get sick than those who get a full night’s rest.”
● By getting a goodnight’s sleep, which is not waking up constantly and at least 8 to
10 hours, you will feel better faster and your immune system will boost back to
normal
● “Sleep helps your body better fight infections that cause you to get sick, along
with staying hydrated and taking medicine that helps with Common Cold
symptoms.”
● By getting a good sleep, your mind and body can rest
● It will also boost your mood to help you feel that your stress is going away
● Especially by getting a good sleep, your stress is managed better throughout your
body
● Whenever you get sick and see the symptoms of a cold, do not ignore your body
and the signs they give you
● Proper rest means your body recovers faster
● Keeping your life in tack and your stress levels low help with not getting sick

Getting a proper amount of sleep, especially when you start to see symptoms of a
common cold, is the most important thing to keep your body in function and so your
immune system does not fail to perform properly.
