EPILEPSY WARNING

Animations
What is animation
Animation is a method in which pictures are manipulated to
appear as moving images. In Cel Animation, images are drawn or
painted by hand on transparent celluloid sheets to be
photographed and exhibited on film. Today most animations are
made with computer-generated imagery.
Types of Animation

There are 5 types of animation:

• Cel Animation – Cel animation is when the drawer uses
cellulose acetate paper which is laid on top of previous frames
on a light box which is photographed afterwards.
• Stop motion – Stop motion is created by moving an object or
human in different and small positions in each frame which is
then played together to create movement.
Cel Animation
A cel, short for celluloid, is a transparent sheet on which objects are
drawn or painted for traditional, hand-drawn animation. Each cellulose
acetate is laid on each cel so it can show it last movement and
photographed. Cel animation is used in cartoons like Dexter's
laboratory

2D Vector-based animation
2D animation uses bitmap and vector graphics to create and edit the
animated images and is created using computers and software
programs, such as; Adobe Photoshop, Flash, After Effects, and Encore.
These animations could be used in advertisements, films, television
shows, computer games, or websites. A combination of 2D animation
and Cel animation were used to produce the anime movie Spirted away
as well as other movies produced by Studio Ghibli.
