1.) Why did you choose these Filipino Artists and their works?

Amorsolo developed the use of backlight which is his greatest contribution to Philippine painting.
Characteristically, an Amorsolo painting contains a glow against which the figures are outlined, and at one
point of the canvas there is generally a burst of light that highlights even the smallest detail. This paintings
shows the rich Filipino culture and it idealized both nature and native beauty.

2.) How did these artworks show the Filipino concept of art?

It carries a contemporary form of realism. It represents Artful celebrations to culture, traditions and Filipino
ideals. Men and women are portrayed as hardworking with smiles on their faces. Landscape in this paintings
are rural lands in the Philippines, vegetation and nature. It captures the appeal of nature and human response
to its illusive beauty and profound mystery. It captures the color and essence of a Philippine setting. And the
tradition and way of life of the Filipinos.

3.) How can these artworks inspire the youth in knowing more about Philippine art?

When you first see these artworks without observing deeper youre looking at a meaningless image. But when
you observe deeper you will start knowing more about that image and you will have a glimpse of inspiration to
know more about these Philippine arts.

4.) Should the government continue the National Artist Awards? Why or Why not?

Yes because, they will considered as national artists for their contribution in the different field of arts. It is the
highest state of recognition given to Filipino artists. But awarding was full of controversies and issues that left
the people questioning if the awardees deserve the recognition given. That’s the problem of the Filipinos they
always doubt and questions the things you will get.

5.) How can we encourage the youth to patronize Philippine arts as well as indigenous art?
Continue your remarkable resilience during challenging adversities and most importantly, continue patronizing
the Philippine art. Promote the use of indigenous materials in constructing buildings and crafts. For instance,
you should support small-time businesses that sell wooden or rattan furniture and handicrafts, woven abaca
or pina cloth, and other handmade or carved trinkets. Appreciate the Philippine Literature more instead of
consuming those written by Western authors.

1.) Why did you choose these Filipino Artists and their works?

Vicente Manansala addressed issues of intimacy, poverty, and culture. His melding of social commentary with
painting had a profound influence on the younger Filipino artists of his generation. I choose this because his
artwork shows the cooperation of the Filipinos working and helping each other. The Bayanihan spirit shows
Filipinos’ concept of helping one another most especially in times of need without expecting anything in return

2.) How did these artworks show the Filipino concept of art?

This painting shows the good color blending and it is relaxing to the eye. The color gives a peace ambiance. The
artwork shows the Filipino values that we’re trying to preserved. It also conveyed how simple people are in the
past and how they social interact.

3.) How can these artworks inspire the youth in knowing more about Philippine art?
