Abstract
The voltage instability phenomenon is generally predicted to occur when a system is operating with a
large load. The voltage stability problem can be mitigated by increasing the use of distributed generation
and connecting them to the distribution or sub-transmission networks. The aim of this research work will
be an overall investigation of how the penetration of distributed generation in low-voltage secondary
distribution networks or sub-transmission networks affects voltage stability. It is very much important
that the voltage collapse point be carefully calculated under different operating state of the network to
avoid degradation of service. System components can be sophisticatedly modeled with the help of some
application software. DGs will be allocated in a probabilistic manner to account for uncertainties in
future allocation. Soft computing analysis will also be applied for the allocation of DGs. For getting
realistic results a large number of system states under both light and peak load conditions will also be
considered.
