Hello Puys,

I just received one mail having a PPS as an attac hment. I would like to share it with all of you.
The technique they use is they make the ridiculous story around a word and it helps in
remembering it. At the end of the pps, they have even given the name of the book.

The usage of the word is in Hindi, and it is a little funny or shocking :shock:, so bear with it. It
did worked, I can still remember the words. Just check it out for yourself .I havent purchased
the book, so have no idea about it.

well.. i wud like 2 share my approach...

i frankly.. wasnt muc h motivated 2 peep in d newspaper on a daily basis...
(like most of us http://ak1.pagalguy.net/pagalguy/smi...on_mrgreen.gif)
But then.. i made a habit.. 2 jot down all d difficult words in a separate copy.. n tried using dem
i must tell u... it helped a lot
and it also started enc ouraging me 2 read newspaper on a regular basis
And most commonly... recent words r only asked in CAT

i rec ently started with preparations for CAT2010 and i suppose till now, vocabulary has given
me nightmares than any other topic. i hope with the method suggested here,i'll be able to learn

AFAIK mnemonic s is jus about giving a certain logic 2 d things u wanna learn/c ram
either u take help of a pre-positioned logic(as taught in coaching or some books), or u apply ur
brain 4 establishing a logic 4 urself(better 1)

The best way to improve your vocabulary is to read, read, read! Books are an excellent tool,
but you can also read internet articles, magazines, etc.

Well i think is reading is one part of the picture until we try and inc lude these words in our
usage voc abulary it becomes very difficult to remember these words.
As reading adds to the learning the usage of words as well....

Those who are using MacBook or any MacOS computers can try ProVoc . A great tool for any
one interested in learning new words. This is a freeware and you have tons of wordlist available
for this online.

This method is good but it's not completely fool-proof.. Some words like apocryphal which
means "of dubious authenticity" can't be remembered..Coz u don't get appropriate images for

I found this website very helpful. This is for anyone who want to improve their vocabulary, in
partic ular to those planning to appear an exam that requires strong vocabulary. It will also be
useful to working professionals, who can't open a book and read in office. Just steal a minute or

I would rec ommend you to read the book "Word Power Made Easy" by Norman Lewis. Its a good
vocab tutorial, I have enriched mine through it. Moreover, one should try to implement the
words learned from the book, which can be done through reading novels and editorial page of a

With just two months left for CAT, just go and buy Word Power Made Easy BY Norman Lewis...
Not only would u learn suffix,prefix but u will end up increasing ur vacabulary by around 2000
words depending on ur learning ability...

i do not think it is good way to enric h your voc ab,,,yar u do not get only one image...people will
